Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaThe space in the bathroom in Il Balconcino unit is too small that I didn’t have space for my toilettries. There was not enough lighting too. It felt dark at night. No water kettle for hot water. I didn’t cook but if someone wanted to, there is not enough cooking tools.
The location is fantastic. It’s in the center of Polignano a Mare, a 10-minute walk from the train station and a few blocks away from the magnificent sea views. Easy to walk to restaurants and shops. The balcony was also nice especially in the morning.

CanadaProperty lacked a couple basics for cooking: pairing or chef’s knife, no cutting board & no way to strain the pasta easily.
The rooftop was great & the bed was very comfortable.

GermanyOverall, my experience at this hotel was quite positive. Its prime location near attractions and public transportation makes it incredibly convenient. Communication with the owner was excellent. The cleanliness of the hotel was impeccable, and the internet connection worked flawlessly. The room amenities, including the kitchenette and coffee maker, were a nice touch. The bed was comfortable, although the bathroom was exceptionally small. The shower, in particular, was so tiny that it was difficult to move around in. However, this quirk adds to the charm of the place. Despite the small bathroom, I would still recommend this hotel for its excellent location, cleanliness, and amenities.

United KingdomMake sure you know which apartment you are getting - they appear very different: the first floor does not have access to the terrace as far as I am aware. Driving was tricky with narrow streets and seasonal road closures. And some people might find the apartment just a little small and low ceilinged for easy comfort - but then again you don't come to Polignano to stay inside; you come to sit on the roof terrace and look out to sea as the sun sets!
There are two apartments in the building. The second floor (La Veduta I think) has a tiny and simple kitchen-cum-entrance as you come in, the bathroom and bedroom are off that. The interior spaces are a little on the small side but you have a fabulous balcony directly from the bedroom and, up a small flight of stairs, a rooftop terrace. The ensemble works really well. The building itself is barely 100m from the main street in the historic town and the walk to Lama Monachile beach (spectacular) is less than 10 minutes. An enormous public car park is less than 250m away - lots of parking in October, even though the town was still busy. The apartment was very good value for money in October.

New ZealandI think the terrace upstairs could be made up to be very beautiful with tasteful garden pieces, furniture, and a shade option. It was the most expensive place of the 6 towns I stayed in in Puglia, maybe reflecting this town’s prices, although I think it could be a bit cheaper for what it is. Good step narrow staircase so won’t suit some people, but for me it was fine and part of the authentic experience.
It’s a great location and a fabulous little place, not far from the sea front - easy walk to the main areas. Grotto Palazze and Trattoria Zanzi were nearby. I also walked to and from the station with my luggage, maybe 20-25 mins. It was a very authentic place, not flash, but very traditional and I liked that and it was perfect for my needs.

AustraliaThe room was very small with steep very narrow stair access. Almost no WiFi the coffee machine didn't work and the shower was flooding the small kitchen. But we only stayed one night so it was ok.
We had the La Veduta room. It had two very nice terraces the top one with sea view. Good position and quiet.

NetherlandsIt's really small and tight, while it's cute anyone above 170cm needs to mind the head all the time and won't fit into the shower properly. It was ok for one or two nights but I would with 192cm struggle to stay longer.

IrelandBecause of the way that the ceiling of the stairwell has been designed, when the stairs light is turned on, it penetrates the room quite a bit.
Good location in the old town. Good communication from the owner, Alessia who was very helpful. Everything is contained within a relatively small space but it is not overly cramped. There is a comfortable bed and, while the bagno would be a challenge for anyone above average height, there is a good shower.
