Excellent location but being right in the middle of the town it was extremely noisy. Even with ear plugs we were woken up around 5/6am one morning by maintenance vehicles. Our bathroom had a vent in also which a strong smell of cigarette smoke kept coming through and filling our room. Not ideal for non smokers and being pregnant!

Friendly, welcoming staff, excellent breakfast buffet, clean room and excellent location.

The place is in a good location, everywhere can be reached on foot - to the mountain lift, pier, castle, cafes. Very tasty ice cream in front of the ice cream parlor :) Breakfast at the hotel is simple.

The room was very very basic but it’s a 2 star hotel so I guess it was to be expected!

The hotel is very central to Malcesine, beautiful views of the lake, restaurants, the castle etc all within walking distance. Good breakfast

The parking is quite faraway from hotel, first you have to stop at parking to check in and pay 2eur per hour. Lack of sound isolation, bathroom door sometimes stuck, the window in WC opens fully and you can hear everything in the hall and next room, if you open the window the doors might knock.

Hotel situated in old town, everything is nearby. Receptionist is very kind and helpfull, speaks fluent english.

There was just one evening where the bar below (and just along street a bit) was really noisy until 1am with people all outside. Which was a bit later than we would have liked ! But the windows and shutters did keep the noise to a minimum ! The bed could have been a bit softer, but I think the same could be said about a lot of Italian hotel beds!

Good location, good price, breakfast fairly standard for an Italian small hotel/b&b, staff friendly. All in all good value and would recommend to people who were looking for all theses things.

Came to this town for a family wedding that was at the castle. So Hotel Modena was the perfect location to be at for getting to the venue. Right in the heart of the old town, rooms are basic but very clean and well kept. Staff are always smiling and happy to help with any requests we asked .Breakfast was standard continental, again clean and very tasty. This hotel is surrounded by beautiful shops , bars, and restaurants with food out of this world. Stepping out of the hotel to your left, you have a stunning view of the lake with the harbour just 1 minute round the corner. I would definitely stay here again if I go back . When we travel, we are mostly out exploring the surroundings, so this hotel was a perfect place to rest, sleep shower, and know our belongings are safe .

Although we were aware in advance, an easy improvement would be to have a safe and iron in the room. We happened to have a very small window in the corner of the room which overlooked the outside walkway on the same level, meaning there wasn’t much privacy/curtain couldn’t really be opened without passers by being able to look immediately in. There were bars on the window which I appreciated from a protection point of view. This in no way really negated the stay, as we were barely in the room anyway. However just answering the question honestly, would highly recommend hotel.

Location is amazing, right in the old town with everything right on your door step. Easy check in and check out, reception staff very friendly and helpful. Lent us the right plug adaptor at no extra cost. Very clean.

Continental breakfast was OK, but some fresh fruit wouldn't go a miss rather than fruit cocktail. Having to iron your clothes in a hallway near the reception was a new experience for me. Thankfully, the friendly staff turned a blind eye to the only ironing board and iron disappearing for 20 minutes when it came to ironing my wife's dress for a family members wedding.

Great location for cafe's, pizzerias and harbour. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

Walls are kind of a paper so you can here everything from the adjacent rooms and street if that annoys.

Very nice location, super friendly stuff and good price-quality ratio. We didn't find much vegan food from breakfast but somehow kitchen staff found us vegan cheese, yoghurt, butter and bread. Saved a lot! Reception lady was super nice to my daughter and always smiling! Also recommend paid parking (10e per day) which locates about 300m from Modena (you can get the parking card from reception).

Nothing - the hotel was wonderful.

Charming traditional hotel in the centre of old port Malcesine. Comfortable, quirky and functional facilities - just what I was looking for. Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful - everything from a phone charger (I forgot mine) to restaurant recommendations - nothing was too much trouble. Very close to central parking, and secure long term parking available. Excellent value for money too.

Our room was comfortable but it needs some revamping as it's very old fashioned and the shower was very small.

We loved the location and the fact that there was breakfast included with fresh coffee. It was basic but very nice. The beds were comfy and the place was good value for money. The staff was very helpful and accommodating.
