Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Brilliant staff, great lounge to hang out in, small hotel bar to get drinks to your liking, location on a nice square with lovely jazz cafe next door. 10 minute walk to Colosseum. Breakfast substantial, and something good for every taste.

United States of AmericaIt's a bit of a culture shock if you're very used to modern, new things; but it wasn't dirty or downtrodden at all. It felt and looked like it was an older hotel, which it was. These aren't things we didn't like, more so things to keep in mind. The only thing we weren't a fan of, was the area around the front entrance felt dirty, but I'm not sure there's much the staff can do about that.
Good location. Very easy metro access. More than we expected for the price. Dated but not unpleasantly so. The staff was very friendly and pleasant.

United KingdomMore choice at breakfast and clearly labelled for vegetarians. Had one double and 2 single beds in room when I asked for a twin which meant one of us had the lumpy single bed. Double was comfortable. Asked for rooms close to each other but were on floors 2 and 5 with no option to move at any point. Bathroom a bit tired looking and towels very thin.
Location right outside a metro station. Friendly staff.

IndonesiaNot much!
The hotel was located about 10 mins walk from the main Central station right across a lovely small park and the metro was literally outside the front door of the Hotel. The staff were all very helpful and informative. Special thanks and gratefulness to Stefano (I hope correct spelling) when on the morning of 14TH March we checked out my wife left her wallet and he helped us by sending it ASAP to the airport in time for our flight! Highly recommended. Room was large for Rome and excellent sound proofing with warm radiators /cool air con if needed. Shops and cafes right along the arcade in front. Thoroughly enjoyed it!

Canadano personal service, no help with bags, breakfast was extra charge, needs Reno badly.
I have stayed at the Napoleon 14 to 15 times in the past and this was my first trip since COVID. the hotel has changed ownership and this has partly led to my poor review. the personal service and welcoming atmosphere is gone and now every penny is important. price is not cheap by any means! no one to help with bags, no dining room, no breakfast included, no slippers (they were my favourite). it used to be charming, but now just seems dreary and dingy with staff who don’t seem to want to be there. hotel could be a gem once again, but needs some better management and ideas!

Good location only 15 minute walk from the train station. On a bustling street with food and shopping. Of the 6 hotels in which we stayed in Italy, this was the largest room and roomiest shower (by Italian standards). The carpet in our room looked new.
