Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

The facilities in the hostel is very old. "Breakfast" is just one small croissant and espresso. The staff even doesn't ask what kind of coffee you want.
The hostel is centrally located and it's easy reach to any spots in Milano downtown. Also the hostel is very close to Turati metro station.

the fact that if you wait for a check in at the exact time of 2 pm you are cant use the toilet paying for everything breakfast at 9 am - too late online check in required otherwise you pay for it loud rooms

its really design for bed spacer in double deck bed position. next time I would know what to expect in a hostel!

We booked a private room. We checked in after the usual checkin time, however, when we arrived to our room the housekeeper was still preparing it so we had to wait in the hallway for over 10 minutes for her to finish. Room was fine, but the furniture was super old and some broken. You also had to sit sideways on the toilet cause it was so close to the shower. Also, there were a TON of 'rules' listed in the room. And if you broke any rules you would be fined. However some of the rules, we weren't even sure if we were/wernt breaking them as they were super unclear - hope we didn't break any! Every single time you leave the hostel you have to leave your key at the desk, and then pick it up when you come back. This was super inconvenient when there was a line or they weren't at the desk cause they were helping other people. Finally, felt that the rate we paid was wildly expensive for what we got.
The location was OK, about 20 minutes walk to the centre of the touristy things to see. Staff were friendly enough

This location is not so near the duomo but has a subway station and supermarkets very close.
The room was big and that is a big locker too, the toilet is inside the room, they have a lift for bags and a nice kitchen! The staff was nice!

The staff were unpleasant and the beds uncomfortable. Although the rooms had lockers there was no where else to put your clothes or hang a coat
It was a good location and reasonable value in the middle of winter. You get a towel and a shower gel included

My mattress was very used so I was just falling in the middle of it! For my one night it was maybe ok but for more it would be annoying... The towels given by the hostel are small, they have bigger ones that cost about 4€ if I remember well... Again for one night it was ok! Also breakfast is included but it was from 9:00-10:30, so since I had an early flight I didn't had time to have it!
The hostel was very close to the metro station, so it was really easy to get there and find it! Staff was really friendly and helpful, rooms and bathrooms were clean and warm. For one night stay it was fine!

They have 2 hostels with the same name. They have the New Generation Hostel Milan center navigli and they have new generation hostel urban brera. We went to the milan center per google maps because this is the name they have here in booking.com, only to find out it’s the other hostel. Please check the address and do not follow google maps! We had to hail a taxi as it was late at night and we dont want to pay the late check in.
It is near the metro, the beds are clean, we got the room we expected

Lame breakfast. Problems with electricity in the kitchen: the staff asked me to delay the use of microwave for 1 hr in the morning because the music stopped playing due to low current when using microwave. Guys please call an electrician!! The hostel is making money selling tiny bottles of shower gel and there's no soap in the bathrooms. I understand the deal with the shower gel but having soap is a must for basic hygiene.
Good rooms, comfortable temperature. Clean bead sheets. Friendly staff. Superb location.

No soap was provided. I had to wash my hands with my own shampoo. Quite poor breakfast as well, just one coffe and one croissant.
Great location very close to metro that connects with centre, affordable, comfy beds and good water pressure
