Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomLack of a shuttle bus to Syracuse or Ortigia, (even hourly would do) . However the local buses and hop on hop off stop (Cappuccini) we're fairly close to the hotel (15 min walk). Nobody explained this and we found out by trial and error. Beware hop on hop off bus finishes at 7pm and local buses around 8:30 pm. This caught us out!
Liked the rooftop honesty bar, but it seemed underused for such a lovely space.

United KingdomWe unfortunately went at a time that the pool was closed for refurbishing and repairs - we didn’t find this out until we arrived at the property, and one of our main reasons for booking was to hopefully spend a day (or at least half of it) in the spa and by the pool. So that was a little bit disappointing. We also went when their restaurant was closed (we were informed of this before booking) which just meant that there wasn’t much to do at the hotel. This is usually fine but with it being quite far out from the restaurants and attractions of syracuse and ortigia, it was a bit of a shame not to have the option to relax for a day at the hotel.
Really nice and modern, really friendly staff who spoke most languages between them - very impressive! A very relaxed vibe!

United KingdomBreakfast good but have to pay addional charge for some of the cooked food. Parking is mostly under an avenue of trees and our car got covered in bird poo. Try and park in the small hotel carpark if you can. Had a room upgrade but wasnt very large room. Shower room has wierd door arrangement with sink just outside the room?? TV all italian channels. Wife had a nice massage in the spa, although a bit pricey. Forget the pool its in the basement, tiny and you have to pay for spa entry.
Bed was comfortable. Pillows nice and comfortable. Breakfast was nice for the standard setup but some cooked food was extra. In all was a good base although 25min walk to the historic town. Could get a closer hotel but may pay more. Had a small Gym but didnt use it.

United KingdomThe hotel is quite a distance from Ortiga and there are very few restaurants or cafés nearby, meaning you either have to stick to the hotel's facilities, pay for a taxi or be prepared to walk quite a bit. There are regular busses, but the bus stop is still a bit away. I wasn't entirely convinced by the obsession with QR codes for accessing information or ordering things, ir the 'self-service bar'. While this sounded like a great idea, prices were pretty steep considering you had to prepare your own.
A beautiful hotel with fantastic facilities, especially the spa area. (You do have to pay additionally to access this though.) One of the evenings there was a party of local ladies in and it was great seeing them enjoying themselves and that locals also benefit from the facilities. We were upgraded on arrival which of course was an added bonus and the room certainly was very spacious and the bed huge. The breakfast was absolutely outstanding and staff were generally really helpful. While we didn't make much use of the rooftop bar, it looked like a great place for spending warm summer nights.

United KingdomIt was a bit run down, some facilities were broken or old. It was quite far from the main areas but it was walkable and easy to get a taxi.
The Hotel was quiet, which made it a relaxing stay. The Rooms were comfy and had everything we needed. Staff were very friendly and were kind enough to acommodate and earlier check in.

Belgium1) The hotel design (building and interior) is among the most bizarre I have ever seen: - a 'landing bridge' is leading to the reception, but on the sides, there is no passage - the whole reception is dark like a night club or dungeon - the windows in the breakfast room are covered with textile lamella's, and an app. 60 cm wide area in front of the windows with clinker pellets - robots are situated in the breakfast area (in local newspapers: Italys first Robotic Hotel !) but they appear not to be in use - the elevator tower is construction site quality, covered by only plywood - a covered area between the reception and the rear of the building has no floor - some ground floors have holes in them, and appear not to be getting repaired - some emergency exits have opening bars that are broken down - there are steel screens to cover the hotel facade without any apparent function 2) The rooms have a very untraditional design: - the sink is in the bedroom, behind a coloumn, extremely small and unpractical - steel bars without function between room table and wall - beds not of hotel quality - unused supports on the facade on the terrace without any function - in our bathroom, water was constantly runing into the toilet
1) The personnel is very pleasant. 2) The parking is free. 3) There is a 'honour bar' on the top floor. 4) The hotel location is calm

SpainThe breakfast wasn’t great; not that many options, and both days the omelettes we ordered were too salty. It’s quite far away from the city centre.
The rooms were beautiful and finely decorated, with a lot of style. We got a room upgrade and could enjoy our own private rooftop. The shower was great and so were the beds. Everyone was kind, the place is beautiful, and the rooftop is perfect for a summer night.

NetherlandsHotel location is not the best, there is nothing around and you have to get a car ride to get to the old part of the centre. We had a view on someone's yard, where there was couple of things going: 1. construction 2. children playing football 3. dog barking These 3 things together can get disturbing

AustraliaThe friendly and accommodating staff couldn't have been more helpful. We don't tend to travel light and were given a spacious room with a private outdoor area. The in house dining was quite good too with a range of traditional Italian to Japanese. Parking's right out front which was handy for moving our bags. A real oasis in busy Siracusa.

BelgiumThe SPA costs extra ... something we ran into throughout Sicily (and this experience wasn't any different) was that hotels would boast a gorgeous sauna, spa, whirlpoool, or indoor pool facilities for the rest and relaxation of their guests; however, upon arrival we'd discover that in order to enter or use ANY of these SPA facilities as an addition 40-55 EUROs PER PERSON, PER HOUR. We've never encountered SPA fees so high anywhere in our travels throughout Europe and this was a huge disappointment. We chose this hotel so that we could use the SPA to relax and recoup during our winter holiday in Sicily and it was a huge bummer that we couldn't use the facilities daily as guests of the hotel, but had to pay between 80 and 110 EUROS PER HOUR on top of the room we were already paying for.
The staff was very helpful and kind. We also very much appreciated having parking since we had a large rental car and didn't want to park it on the street. It's far from Ortigia / city center, but we were able to take taxis around and the room was really comfortable and quiet. We even had a huge, private balcony and the hotel has a gorgeous sun deck / roof top terrace.
