Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe arrived quite late upon our arrival, when booking the hotel I made sure there was someone going to be at check in as in the description from Booking.com it stated the check in closed at 11pm. Once arrived we had to check in the hotel down the road called Hotel Sonya due to no reception at the opera suite rooms. Once arrived the area was extremely noisy and was a struggle to remain asleep, or was woken up extremely early. The building itself was very dated, and sometime our keycard was a struggle to work.
The room was very spacious and nice, it had everything you needed including complimentary waters. It was very clean and was cleaned daily. The bathroom was slightly dated but manageable, as we was only going to be sleeping there and not spending time in the hotel! The location was amazing as it was so close to popular attractions. We love Rome!

Czech RepublicIt's a little confusing but the reception is in a different building down the street so instructions could be more clear. One night both our key cards didn't work so we had to walk to the reception to get them fixed which was a bit of a pain as we came home early hours of the morning, but receptionist was able to fix them pretty quickly. Seemed like a regular issue based on reaction from receptionist. The bathroom sink plug was a bit broken but nothing unmanageable.
Great location, very easy walk from main train station (Termini). We were able to walk pretty much to all the main sites in central and ancient Rome from our hotel. Very lovely service from the receptionists. The room itself is nice enough for the money paid and noting we weren't spending much time inside. Has all the necessary things like fridge, storage etc plus we had a little balcony we weren't expecting which was nice. Bathroom was nice marble decor and shower had amazing water pressure. The Romans truly have mastered water systems.

United StatesI've stayed twice before and previously there was reception on site and breakfast was onsite. I did not like that you have to check in down the street and that you have to walk to breakfast. Breakfast included was pretty basic and not nearly as good as in the past. So comparing to the past, it was a disappointment a bit. But otherwise it is still a great place to stay, friendly staff, location can't be beat.
The location is great, easy access from Termini Station, near restaurants, easy to see area attractions, restaurants, etc.

Canadathe street was hard to find as signage was non existent. the property was not signed very well either. there was nobody at the site but a sign to report to a nearby property to check in. somewhat confusing but not a major issue
breakfast was basic, but adequate, room was fine but the layout was unusual (ie) the bathroom was down several stairs making night time bathroom breaks disruptive. the location was very central for sightseeing, and close to the airport train

IrelandRooms need some renovation. The furniture was in good condition but there were marks and cracks on the walls.
Great location, well connected to the city center and station. Rooms and beds were clean and comfortable. Good WiFi connection. Staff was great and accommodating. They provided 2 bottles of water free of charge in each room, they stored our luggage before checking in and after the check out and they even lent us an umbrella when it was raining.

FranceNo window but for one night and the location m it was good for us.
Great location near the train station and within walking distance of most sites. We were only staying in Rome for one night so this room met our needs. We did not have a window though other than that the room was good and staff were very nice. A kind man helped us with our luggage.

IrelandThe pillows were a bit harder than normal but the bed itself was very comfortable.
Suite Opera Rooms is a very central property very close to all the main Rome tourist activities and 5 minutes from Termini ; the room itself was a good size and had everything we needed , the property doesn’t have its own dining facilities but it’s just a matter of crossing a road to access your breakfast. .
