Our room was in the tower which required a set of stairs. Also as we were so high up the WiFi didn't work well.

The location in the center of town was fabulous and close to the Duomo.

Hotel desperately needs an upgrade. Breakfast, I would rate 5/10. No hot food, just continental.

Friendly reception staff. Very helpful and efficient. Wonderful historic old building. Rooms were very spacious.

Driving to the hotel was a little daunting once we got into the town, as the streets are quote narrow, but that is the case in most small towns. They do have a great courtyard for parking but it is a little tricky getting into it if you are not experienced. I would recommend getting an automatic car which will make the tight turns less thrilling! Also, there was quite a lot of street activity into the night so being in the heart of town you could hear that.

This is a gorgeous hotel in a small town. My window opened onto a small pedestrian street, and was very historic. There is an underground spa that makes you feel like you are in a private cave, and the restaurant was beautifully designed for atmosphere and food was great. Service was top notch and the staff was more like concierge than desk clerk. The town is quaint and residents very active so it was quite lively. It was very easy to walk the streets and make you way back to the main square with the church and then find the hotel.

Gym that they advertised is not a gym. There are a few machines with only one working was a bike. Breakfast is poor. Cold water for tea, stale bread and cakes and no facility for toast. Very basic and poor choice of food

The restaurant attached under private management is a beautifully restored and appointed livery stable. The food is excellent but the service was extremely slow. That in large part due to a large group but service was far under staffed as the restaurant was less than half occupied.

I enjoyed the almost medieval ambiance of the building, the entryway and the enclosed courtyard. The balcony guest rooms are unique and charming. The beds are comfortable. The shower hot. The lounge area is very homey with lamp lighting. The staff was very accommodating. The spa area is extraordinary. The breakfast selection plentiful, tasty and served in elegance. All this at reasonable rates.
