Right in the centre of historic Galatina and the hotel was able to organise a traffic and parking pass for your vehicle to allow you to drive in and park in the historic centre. A good central base to visit the surrounding beachside towns of Otranto, San Lucce and Gallipoli. Is it limited with regards to restaurant choice at night not a real problem. Very quiet during the day

    Mattress too hard.

I was blown away by the luxury, taste, and value of this 16th-century palazzo turned hotel. Our suite was more spacious than many apartments I've rented in Italy. Everything you look at belongs in a museum. Beyond that, the staff was warm, gracious, and helpful beyond my highest expectations. I did find the mattress a bit too hard for my old back (but it was nice to sleep on a real "matrimonial" rather than the usual two-mattresses-plugged-together arrangement common in this area). Breakfast consisted of luscious pastries and ripe local fruit. I am a well-traveled person and this is the best hotel experience I've ever had. I wonder why the hotel is rated at four stars instead of five????

Didn't know that you could order an individually made cappuccino. Used the machine every day. Last day I noticed someone asked for one and got it.

My room was like a mini suite. The breakfast was very good and reception very helpful. They arranged taxi transfers to and from train station for me.

Very little English spoken so communication was difficult as my Italian is on the same level! But why should they be expected to speak English?

despite the hotel being almost empty the breakfast buffet was generous

The hotel is excellent but as we came without a car, the transport was very poor and it took us a long time to travel from one site to another one and we couldn't visit all the places we wanted to.

If possible, the wifi in the rooms will be nice.

The Palazzo Baldi Hotel is a 16th-century building which is beautifully restored and decorated according to its period of that time. We stayed at the Palazzo for 5 nights and from the moment we arrived the staff were most welcoming. Always happy to recommend places to eat and give us general information of the town. Also, Damiano, gave us an inside of the history of the building and its use in the past which we found fascinating. We hope we can stay again at this hotel and we definitely will recommend it to our friends.
