The staff is excellent. They made dinner reservations for us at a fabulous restaurant. The room and bathroom were spacious. The water pressure and temperature in the shower were great. Our car was parked in a secure location on site.

Very little. The outdoor space could be bigger - currently around 3 square metres.

Everything. The huge rooms with authentic 18C palazzo decoration. The cleanliness and quality of the linen, towels, bath gels, etc. The helpful receptionist. Free on the premises parking in the middle of the city. The central location. The freshly prepared juices, fruit, preserves, bread, croissants and selection at breakfast in the stunning main hall reception room. The evening wine tastings in the foyer.

We didn't have a fridge & shower head was terrible.

Location was perfect, a 2 minute walk to restaurants, shopping & monuments. This place has history & style. The staff were very accommodating, this made our stay very enjoyable.

Poor lighting in the bedroom. Our adaptors didn't work in the plug sockets. But very helpful staff helped us with a local adaptor.

Incredible building. Very old, original features. A glimpse into the past. A palace indeed!

Hot water went off for a day or so. Air conditioning was weak.

It is a 17th century palace! Venue excellent! Bed was short for a 6'5" man. But we can't complain......breakfast was good. We loved our stay!!

There is a hand shower over a tub, with no shower curtain, so it was rather messy. This was the only negative in an overall wonderful experience.

Absolutely loved it - the place is gorgeous, and the rooms are spacious.

Late start of breakfast and limited hours of staff. For emergencies, a guest can call the owner, but asking a simple question about town is hardly an emergency.

The elegance of being in an old historic house with many original appointments including paintings, rugs, furniture, etc. Rooms were large.

The parking is free on site but it is hard to drive through Lucca. It is not recommended for big cars.

The location is great and the feeling of staying in a palazzo is priceless. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very spacios with high ceilings. When first enter it you might think it is like a horror movie scene but history captivates you when you pass through ballroom (which is now the breakfast room) to the suits. It is an exquisite experience.

This is a historic property run by the family who has owned it for centuries (there is an amazing painting in the hallway from circa. 1200). The room was enormous! Biggest room we have ever stayed in our travels. The breakfast was fantastic with a wonderful spread. My children had hot chololate and it was more like chocolate fondue - which as you can imagine they loved and had two cups each! Only issue is that there is no shower you have to take a tub with a hand held shower. This did not distract from our stay the kids thought it was cool because we were in a palace.

Would have preferred a stand alone shower as opposed to over the bath.

Perfect location. Stunning building - it is a palazzo! Painted ceilings, size of the rooms & decor is breathtaking.

No shower in bathroom only tub with handheld shower which if you don't take baths made it somewhat challenging.

Very different experience. Liked the uniqueness of the property and the spaciousness of our room. Traveled with friends that made our stay fun. Stayed 4 nites. Felt like we were a part of the medieval times. I believe the house has been in the family since the 13th century.

Very over priced. Disappointed with our room. Very drab and dark. Furnishings and bathroom in particular needed updating. Felt like I was staying in an old peoples home.

Traveling with kids we missed a place to be in the palazzo outside of the room. The didn't have a baby chair for breakfast. The room was not top clean.

Very noisy due to single glazing onto street with bars nearby. Wifi didn't really work. Got given tray of packaged croissants, warm juice as we had to leave by 7.15 and breakfast and staff only came at 8am. Staff go off duty after 8pm leaving customers keys to come and go.

Beautiful building and very spacious rooms. Bathroom was clean and attractive. Staff were kind and helpful.

The shower did not have a fixed place to hold the shower on the wall. That and that one had to hold the shower above one's head. There was no curtain so it was difficult to not splash water outside. Still, all in all a pretty minor inconvenience.

This hotel is really a Palazzo in the middle of Lucca.it was great to be able to park inside the city walls, although parking is a bit difficult. Coming home to the Palazzo after spending a day roaming Lucca was like walking into a meeting evil fortress. The experience is not to be believed. The breakfast was really amazing. It was all laid out in a regal atmosphere. The shower was a bit difficult to use, but it is clear they have done the best I can renovating a very old property. The rooms were a norm us in size and in the height of the ceilings. If you get a chance to stay here sometime, we would highly recommend it.

Communication was excellent prior to stay, Anna was very helpful in every possible way. Room was gorgeous, like staying in a palace with a modern bathroom and glorious AC! The windows and small balcony were perfect, location was ideal for the concert in Piazza Napoleone. The best caffe americana we've ever had!

The tiles on the Bathroom floor in the unique Loverey suite were a bit on the dirty side. (Stains)

Overall stay was unbelievable. The Location was very Unique (What an interior, just Wauw) & the staff was super. Just by walking in trough the big door you knew this was going to get big. From the moment you entered the doors of this Palazzo, where the rooms were located, you felt like a Caesar. Such beautiful spacious rooms. Good balanced Breakfast , and very friendly staff.
