Unfortunately the air conditioning was not working for the 3 days we were there. The room got uncomfortably warm and the windows do not open (they are nailed shut for safety reasons I assume). I checked with the front desk and they said they were “hoping” an electrician would come “today” but that was the story each day. They were apologetic and I asked if they had any fans and they brought up 2 oscillating fans. That helped with moving the warm air around but was barely tolerable. Since our stay was short and we were outside looking at sites we just sucked it up and did not make a stink. It would be a nice gesture to receive some sort of small compensation.

We picked a large suite for the extra room and were please with the huge room. My wife enjoyed the tub to soak in at night. Location is very convenient to train station and local attractions. Breakfast selection was nice and plentiful.

Superb location, a short walking distance to the Duomo as well as the train station. I had a nice big room. Very helpful staff who held my luggage while I explored Florence before my room was ready at 2pm, they also offered use of the dining area for free coffee. Nice Florentine toiletries.

Only one thing wrong the shower sometimes did not run hot water even when I ran it for 10 minutes.. so had a couple of cold showers not pleasant.. I reported it and they were most helpful and it seemed OK after that..

Breakfast was lovely and more than adequate.. bed was very comfortable and the maid was lovely and kept the room very clean. The staff at the front desk were lovely and very helpful..

The only negative from ourselves was that the bed was uncomfortable, though this is understandably a personal thing & may suit other guests.

The Hotel location suited us very well as it was both close to the train station (we travelled in by train from Rome & also planned to travel on by train to Venice) & also to the town, allowing us to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The hotel staff were very helpful. The room was a good size with all the features that we required, including a bath. The breakfast selection was very good.

We should have requested a room not overlooking the street as was noisy at night. Also would like a bed with a headboard so could sit up in bed to read/watch TV. No English news channels. Very few progs converted to English.

The hotel is perfectly located in the city center, within a walking distance from the Santa Maria del Fiore, and just some steps from the Santa Maria Novella square and the train station. Although our rooms did not have the painted ceilings and bed canopies that I saw in the pictures, they were comfortable and spacious and had everything needed, including the bathrobes. The interiors of the public spaces redeemed it all, making us feel like the old Palazzo habitants, especially the ceiling of the dining room - btw, the space was accessible even after the breakfast time for a cup of coffee/tea! Special thanks for letting us leave our luggage after the checkout, letting us enjoy the city for several hours before getting on the train.

The lift was a bit old and confusing. The breakfast staff was a bit rude and not very willing to help. Also breakfast wasn’t refilling from 09:00 although it’s supposed to run until 10:00.

The location was exceptional, the cleaning service and the reception polite and of very good service.

The Location was perfect for a visit to Florence. It was walking distance from the train station and all the cities main attractions. Perfect location for exploring all that Florence has to offer. Bars and restaurants a plenty just minutes away. Our bed was extremely comfortable and we slept very well after long days exploring. Also, the tea and coffee machines were available all day and evening so you could pop back to relax anytime.

As I don't live in a city, there was a bit more noise than I am used to, but it didn't keep me awake. But I chalk that up to the normal sign of life.

Lovely grand old hotel with wonderful staff--all very helpful and cheerful. Great location for exploring Florence. Beautiful and charming old building with some stunning glass and paintings. Could easily imagine it in the heights of the 1930's. Grateful it had an elevator though. And the luggage storage was also very helpful. Room was large and airy, and the beds very comfortable. And great shower! Felt very safe walking around in the area, even at night.
