Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United States of AmericaBathtub in single room was a little slippery.
Rooms were clean , staff very accommodating and breakfast buffet was amazing. After a horrible stay in Florence at Hotel Medici, hotel Patria was a breath of fresh air.

United KingdomBed wasn’t comfortable at all, I had to place a pillow under my hip so I could sleep on the side. It’s small but the curtain didn’t shut and the air con didn’t work.
Very friendly staff, great location near the station and room was very fairly priced.

CanadaSlightly "overpriced'? But this is Rome. I was surprised late @night by people just 'outside" my room. even though I was on fifth floor. I was not told that walkway by side of my room was accessible- EVEN IF these were hotel staff?!
Good location- Quite near to public transit. Many shops nearby where can easily purchase beer, wine &food, etc. Historic part of town- only ca. 3km fro Forum &Coliseum. Adequate room size quite clean, etc.

The room was a bit tired but more than adequate for our needs, Location for both Rome Central and the Train station was ideal. Breakfast consisted of a good selection of hot and cold food and drinks

United States of Americamy own fault, but I didn't know that breakfast wasn't included in the fees so I was charged more than I'd budgeted for. Again, that was my fault for not reading the forms correctly. It was a fantastic breakfast, by the way.
the staff were great, the location is quite good, the hotel (being renovated) is also nice. Rooms are tidy and clean. Staff ready to help and speak English well.

BrazilThe hotel deserves a renovation or at least having the walls painted. It is pretty old at first sight, which may be disappointing at your arrival, so try to set up your expectations accordingly. But nothing that will prevent you of having a good time in Rome.
The location is great at a walking distance from Termini Train Station and from some city attraction such as Fontana di Trevi. One block away from Republica metro station. The staff was friendly. Good value for money considering I booked it a few weeks in advance.

AustraliaCould very easily hear noise/conversations/sounds from other rooms.
Very friendly staff and super helpful with suggestions and information for Rome. Room are clean and tidy, noisy between rooms so pack ear buds if you’re a light sleeper. Very central in Rome and easy to walk to from the main train station. Easy to navigate to the main historical sites. Cafe outside and downstairs from the hotel is fantastic for coffee and something to eat. AC works well and can open windows for fresh air if wanted.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Hotel Patria. The staff and receptionist were very helpful and polite. The free Breakfast every morning was great and we were satisfied with the different options. The beds were comfy, rooms were spacious and bathrooms were clean. The air conditioner worked so well for the 40 degree weather.

FinlandGreat location. Less than 10 minutes from Termini station and metro station is only a few minutes walk. Clean rooms and bigger enought. Breakfast better what I expected. Even coffee was in a pot and not just a automatic coffee. Nothing to complaining.

BrazilThey have smart TVs in the rooms but they are not connected to the internet. That was a bit disappointing. I also would like to suggest that the management consider adding an electric kettle to the rooms.
Hotel Patria offers a very good cost efficiency rate in a privileged location in Rome. We arrived by train and it is walking distance from Termini. The staff was very friendly and the room was comfortable and rather silent for such a central location. The ac worked perfectly during the hot summer days we spent in the city. The breakfast has a good variety of food and is at a reasonable price, there are, nonetheless, many options of cafes around the area.
