Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ItalyIt was a pity that the plentiful cake and biscuit breakfast had no ingredient notices - to assist with allergies and in the end the coffee cost half the price of the breakfast itself. It was a good coffee. The walk to the BnB is mostly flat as stated and then is quite an incline. Having large suitcases was a challenge and there is no offer of a pick-up service - which, even at charge, would have been useful.
The BnB is near the station and comfortable. It is set across the road from the main BnB restaurant cafe so morning noise was simply other travellers waking up. The room was lovely, old-fashioned but clean and with all necessities. Clean towels and toiletries ect. It had air-con and a small fridge (it had a tempermental door that needed care to close properly). The owner was very helpful staying later for a very late check-in due to transport issues. They accepted a last minute booking and were very pro active keeping in touch.

United StatesThere was really nothing about the hotel that we didn’t like. We did not have a car so parking wasn’t an issue for us. Neither of us have mobility issues, but it could be an issue for someone who is mobility challenged.
The proprietor was a very nice and helpful man. We were placed in the annex building, which at first made me a little worried but it turns out it is a wonderful building no more than 20 yards from the primary building. The annex was beautiful with Marble floors and extremely clean. Our room had a small balcony out the front with a gorgeous view in the direction of the city. The breakfast included would seem to be locally sourced products, including baked goods, meats, and egg, among other items to choose from. The location is very close to the central train station. There is a short but moderately steep walk from the main street to the hotel. Somewhere in the neighborhood of 60 to 80 m.

CanadaThis is charming, classic, older hotel that has been nicely kept up. The location is good - a 10 minute walk from the train station and at the base of a lovely path up to the old town on the bluff above. The room was comfortable with a nice balcony overlooking the quiet street. The breakfast was excellent - great coffee, juice, cakes, etc. Great value.

United StatesThey should offer a transport service to Civita di Bagnoregio; the buses are scarce in the morning and taxis are too expensive. It would be a win-win opportunity for the clients and the hotel itself.
Everything was very good. There were excellent cakes at the breakfast!

New ZealandWe had to chuckle at the extremely active and amorous couple next door, thin walls. Some fruit at breakfast would be great.
A nice hotel in a handy spot. Family owned, cared for, it is fine for a couple of nights. Bed suprisingly comfortable, shower pressure amazing. Loved the decor, totally fitted the place. Breakfast was a homemade feast of cakes.

NetherlandsThe curtains didn't shut. On the outside of the windows were wooden Louvre shutters as is common in Italy. No problem. On the inside were very nice net curtains with more drapes on the side with tiebacks. But they don't shut. Obviously more for decoration purposes. but this means light does come in form the outside which could mean a problem for guests in summer. Especially, if they are light sensitive such as my self. The only real negative point was the very rude gentlemen I encountered one afternoon at the reception desk when popping in to pay my city tax. Didn't speak one word of English, I got a telling off when I wondered why I had to show my passport since I already did this when checking in. The guy was so unbelievably rude that he should not deal with the general public in ANY function. He was the rudest person I have ever meet during any of my travels! and I travel a decent amount each year. So, that should tell you something!
The place was clean and the bed comfortable. I appreciated the coffee & tea making facilities. Location was good and close to the train station for anybody wanting to catch an early train. Around the corner is a great place to eat called San Michele which has won some recent Tripadvisor awards. So, no need to go back up to Orvieto to eat. Breakfast was fantastic! Lots of cakes and pastries. As well as an assortment of hearty options. Normally, I don't go for breakfast at all but in this case I made an exception! All staff bar one rude bastard were very friendly and accommodating.
