Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomThis property is outstanding in every way and we could not have hoped for anything more. The setting is breathtaking, and the view of SanGimignano is magical at any time of the day, but at sunset it is stunning and the perfect place to end the day is on the terrace with an aperitif watching the sun dip behind the horizon. We stayed on a half board basis and every meal was truly delicious and locally sourced and again was beyond our expectations. All of the staff are wonderful and it would be wrong to pick out one person as nothing is too much trouble, and you feel that you are being looked after by friends who really care about you. Il Segreto casts a spell on you from the moment you arrive, and I will certainly recommend this beautiful place and hosts to everyone looking for peace, total relaxation and a little bit of paradise that they will never forget.

Absolutely beautiful agriturismo situated in stunning gardens. Our room was really lovely with a comfortable bed, nice bathroom and plenty of room for suitcases. Our booking included half board which included a delicious buffet breakfast and three course dinner. The owners are very welcoming and the in-house chef is amazing. The location is only a few minutes drive to San Gimignano and 35 mins drive to Siena. We hired a car in Siena and did day trips each day. Stunning part of Tuscany.

GermanyIl Segreto di Pietrafitta is the definition of perfection. Simply an impeccable and wonderful stay. From the location, the accommodation (room), the building and the surroundings itself, the delicious food (breakfast & 3-course dinner = heaven.), the whole team around the wonderful and most warm & kind hosts Diego & Pedro - everything was just perfect. We have travelled the world, but this place and this team is high end. Thank you for making our Tuscany trip something we will remember forever. We will be visiting this place again for sure!!

United KingdomWe cannot fault this place.
Everything about this place is fantastic. Pedro and Diego were so helpful arranging our transport, and all the staff were so welcoming and kind during our stay - they could not do enough for us. The food was amazing, we loved having the set menus so we could try different things, everything was so fresh and delicious. The location was great, we didn't rent a car but could easily walk to get the bus into San Gimignano. This is a great town to explore as a tourist as there is plenty there but not too crowded. The views of the town and the surrounding countryside from the hotel were unbeatable. The room was super, it had a lovely rustic feel, but the facilities were also really modern and clean. We can't wait for our next visit!

United States of AmericaIL Segreto di Pietrafitta is a perfect place for a beautiful, relaxing stay, and a great launching point for visiting Tuscany. It is meticulously decorated, and the staff go out of their way to accomodate guests. The meals provided are excellent and plated so nicely. I did think the evening dinners were portioned a little small and on several evenings a bit light on protein, but I would say they are not to be missed when you stay there.

Had the most fantastic time at Il Segreto di Pietrafitta. Pedro and Diego are amazing hosts and go out of their way to help. The rooms are excellent with great Tuscan style and ambiance, but very practical too with excellent bathrooms. The grounds are just totally amazing. The pool and terrace are brilliant and the views of San Gimignano are to die for. You can walk around and there are just amazing views from every angle. Breakfast and dinner each day were next level. The food is really fantastic and we looked forward each day to the amazing dinners. I just cannot undersell how great this place is. It was very bittersweet to leave and we’d love to return.

AustraliaLeaving, we miss it already.
On the taxi ride over, you are greeted with a breathtaking view of Tuscan vineyards, and it only gets better from there. We were welcomed by the lovely Andrea, and he helped us get settled in and gave us a tour of the place. Once we got into our rooms, we were in awe of all the decor, and we almost fell asleep immediately because of how comfortable the beds were. Instead, we rested by the pool and got a few cocktails (I recommend the Hugo spritz and the Il Segreto). We were so relaxed, time flew by so quickly. Soon came dinner, and it felt like luxury to have so many courses be presented to you, and they all tasted delightful. The next day, we trekked to San Gimignano, which allowed us to see the beautiful views (or you can take the bus). If you plan to go on a Thursday, I recommend checking if Gelateria dondoli has gelato making classes. Otherwise, I recommend eating some Italian Garden gelato at their store. Be sure to check out the tower and cathedral as well. We were also greeted by the lovely Pedro and Diego during our second dinner, and they have been the best hosts I have ever met. They are so attentive, always willing to help, and if you need any recommendations or directions, they are very resourceful. I recommend asking if there are any cooking classes because we had so much fun making lunch. And I recommend going for the Florentine steak for at least one of the nights because it was one of the best steaks we have ever had. Overall, the staff are amazing, the food and drinks are delightful and the amenities you will love. It was the best part of our trip, and is now my favourite place in Europe. We'll definitely be coming back.

AustraliaWow, our stay was amazing with wonderful hosts. From the moment we arrived we felt at home in this breathtaking location. Dining on the outdoor terrace for breakfast and dinner was a highlight, each time it took our breath away. The food was amazing, one of the best fresh breakfast choices we have enjoyed. So relaxing by the pool, a beautiful, quiet, intimate place with the nicest, most helpful staff and hosts. This was our 2nd time in Tuscany and it blew us away. Can't wait to go back, cannot thank you enough for your hospitality, it is a credit to you!

Everything! Picturesque property with the nicest staff and unbelievable food. Pedro and Diego have created something special in the hills just outside San Gimignano.
