How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewThe location was perfect. Close enough to Ostuni. The entire property was pristine and beautiful. It looked perfect with the great experience of sleeping in a Trulli. Marcantonio was an excellent host making us welcome and giving us great tips for the area. The breakfast was very good, with great pastries, coffee, fruits, charcuterie boards etc. The facilities were impecable, great pool and landscape. Enough spaces to park. Quiet and serene paradise.
Everything was perfect!
Thank you very much. Happy summer, come back to Puglia soon! Marcantonio

Verified reviewBeautiful and quirky property. Immaculately clean room. Comfortable bed. The pool and breakfast areas were relaxing and comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The owners work hard to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. A great location for exploring the area.
Although it did not spoil our enjoyment, the floor of the room wasn’t level so a bit tricky.
Thank you very much. Yes, the floor is a big rock and I can understand perfectly what you said. Hope your staying was ok. Happy summer.

Verified reviewThe setting was beautiful- lovely pool and gardens. Good breakfast served in beautiful courtyard. Convenient location.
Our accommodation was in a (newly built) trullo. Traditional style but uncomfortable. No windows. Stone - so cold at night and heating ineffective. Bathroom not actually separate from bedroom. Toilet virtually over shower. It was not clear from website that we would be sleeping in a trullo. Not suitable for older guests. Limited guidance provided to local area - needs a printed handout for guests.
Hello Miss Anne, we are so sorry that you didn’t like your accommodation. Pietrefitte is a country house made of trulli and lamie, ancient buildings made of stones (not new built as you say). Toilet over shower? Would be very difficult! It’s written everywhere: our accommodations are in ancient rooms. You slept in a trullo build in 1850, I can understand it was not what you wanted but it’s not our fault. And please: saying that you are unhappy about your room to the other guests isn’t polite and sounded really weird to us. We take care of our guests. Please remember: trulli are MADE of stones and you had the central heater + the air conditioning in the room. But you set it on COOL so of course the room was cold. I’m so sorry about your bad experience. Thank you for the review. Ps: There is no age limit in Pietrefitte and you are not so old. Happy summer. Best regards Miss Anne.

Verified reviewWe stayed with Antonio for one week in May 2025. He was a fantastic host and generously provided tips for restaurants and sites. We were impressed by the beautiful grounds of Pietrefitte, the comfortable room and the bountiful breakfast selection. Our room was very tastefully decorated and had everything one needs with a frig, TV and comfy bed. The pool was so clean and refreshing. We looked forward to breakfast everyday which, in addition to a selection of meats, cheeses, jellies for toast and fresh fruit, always also included something freshly baked. Absolutely great stay.
Thank you a lot! See you in the States…

Verified reviewThe charm of the renovated country stone buildings. The host Antonio gave us great recommendations for restaurants, 10 to 15 minutes away. Provided fabulous breakfasts, including gluten free and lactose free options for 2 people in our group. Loved the quiet atmosphere.
Not much.

From start to finish we have experienced a very comfortable and unique stay where personal approach, quality and rest stand high on the list. The rooms are tastefully designed, each in their own style. Start your day with breakfast under the olive trees accompanied by freshly baked cakes and croissants, a delicious platter with a variety of locally sourced cheeses and meat. Thank you, Marcantonio for taking such good care of us, a better host doesn’t exist. We loved it, and we will be back.

Verified reviewA Hidden Gem in the Puglian Countryside Our stay at Pietrefitee was nothing short of magical. Nestled in the heart of stunning countryside scenery, this beautiful accommodation offers a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The picturesque surroundings are perfect for anyone looking to unwind and re-charge. We celebrated my wife's birthday here, and it couldn't have been more perfect. Antonio, the host, is truly exceptional. His warm hospitality and attention to detail made our stay incredibly special. Every morning, we were treated to beautifully served Mediterranean breakfasts, featuring fresh, local produce from nearby masserias. The flavors were simply divine and a perfect start to each day. Pietrefitee is a fantastic place and a true diamond find. Whether you're looking for a peaceful retreat or a base to explore the local area, this rural escape has it all. We can't wait to return!

Verified reviewThe property is gorgeous! A real gem we managed to stay at during our travels around ostuni. Very tranquil/chill vibes. Everything is very aesthetically pleasing. Breakfast was lovely, the cats are cute. Was a lovely stay. Definitely need to have a car to get around etc, easy parking there. Also absolutely love the little secure animal houses with bedding for the cats and dogs near the entrance. Really thoughtful and kind.
Thank you 😊

Verified reviewnice personal run location. the owner is helping to make the stay relaxing and nice. pure nature and quite place. Pool with a good size and is located in the middle of the olive trees. Start the day with a excellent breakfast in the nature.
No public line available to receive or make calls. Only WiFi available nut only at the central breakfast place (not in room). The location is really off the main routes, you need a car to dive to discover the area and go out for lunch and dinner (nothing near).
Hello mr. Werner, I’m glad to inform you that just round the corner, in the small village, there are two restaurants, just 2 minutes driving but some guests walk there (12 minute walking in olive and figues trees, very romantic road). As I told you when you arrived, we have different router in the property. In your room the router is called Pietrefitte5. But you continued to use the Pietrefitte2 (breakfast area) but it don’t work in your room. Each room is served by WiFi! We have Pietrefitte1 (pool area + 2 rooms) Pietrefitte2 (main garden) Pietrefitte3 (small garden + room) Pietrefitte4 (park area + courtyards) Pietrefitte5 (the last two rooms) So please don’t give wrong info in your review, I take care of my guests and I want them feel comfortable in their staying. We are on SP14 a road that connects Ostuni with Martina Franca, Alberobello and Polignano a Mare. It is considered a main road. Or do you want a freeway in the country? Did you see the map before making reservation? I think you didn’t really know that you were visiting Puglia. If you choose an accomodation in the country you need absolutely a car. It’s not New York. Happy Autumn
