Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomWe did not really enjoy breakfast, the hotel was very full but the boiled eggs were served very cold obviously from the fridge, Scrambled eggswere barely warm. Toaster did not toast. With lots of people there it took a long time to get a cup of tea. While there we had two rooms, number 1 had a shower over the bath with the shower in the middle of the bath making it quite difficult to use. Number 2 room had a shower cubicle but very tiny, plenty of hot water though in both cases. We had very hard pasta both nights for conference that we attended. As we stayed two nights beofre the event we ate at the hotel and we really did not enjoy our meals very much.

SerbiaIt is very complicated to reach the hotel from the airport without using taxi. From Vatican city you need at least 45 minutes to the hotel by public transportation (metro + bus + walk).
Staff is friendly and breakfast was more than good comparig with other hotels in Italy that I experienced.

SwitzerlandOn check-out one staff member was impatient and a bit rude with regards to signing exit documentation. Bathroom isn’t well laid out. The basin is too close to the toilet so it isn’t comfortable to use.
Great buffet breakfast with lots of options and parking on site at an extra cost.

CanadaA shuttle bus was offered at the hotel on a regular timed schedule to drop off hotel guests at the metro station and to also pick them up.I had to pay extra for this. However, the shuttle service is not reliable. It was not operating on the first day that we stayed at the hotel. On the second day we took the shuttle bus to the metro and on our way back we phoned for the shuttle bus to pick us up from the metro station. When I called the hotel to arrange for pick up the male receptionist Alessio hung up on us two times!!! We were two senior citizens stranded at the metro station in a strange city with the hotel reception hanging up on us. This is unacceptable. They do not care about your well being or safety. Apparently this has also happened to other people staying at the hotel as well. Hanging up on your paying hotel guests when they need assistance is not a good move. - customer service training is desparately needed!
The breakfast was good and most of the staff were nice. I booked this hotel because it offered a shuttle bus service to the metro station.

United KingdomI do not understand why this hotel is getting a rating below 8+. The location is not central but there is no pretence in claiming it is. It is easily accessible, even by public transport, a tube and a bus. It is tucked away and quiet. There is no Roman traffic chaos. The rooms are very comfortable, the breakfast excellent and the staff a delight, helpful and kind. What is not to like!! I stayed in November. I will be going back in December.

SwitzerlandThe food in the conference is recycled (left over pasta) for lunch and dinner. The waitress in the breakfast and bar was rude and unpleasant. Booking.com states that water is included in the unit. We were told that this is only welcome water and we had to pay for the following days. The reception staff were unfriendly and argued that it does not state every day. However, it does not state complementary welcome water either. Supplies of towels are for most of the time for one person, whereas we booked the room for two people. One of my colleagues was refused to have breakfast even though she did not join the group tour with a breakfast packet. I would not recommend this hotel at all. Very inconvenient location, too.
The waiters serving the food for conference lunch and dinner were helpful.
