The staff were incredibly helpful, attentive and went out their way to help with local directions, help with transport, restaurant bookings and making sure we had the best stay possible. The hotel was set in beautiful vineyards and while a half hour walk into the town itself the walk was very safe and relatively easy. The breakfast was incredible with a great selection of fresh foods and lots of it! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend staying at Podere Sant’ Elena.

Barbara went out of her way to help us, picking us up in her car after we arrived in San Gimignano on the bus and no taxis to be found. Fantastic breakfasts, spotless swimming pool with fantastic views, a lovely taxi driver - Fabio, and a great castles and wine tasting tour .... Friendly staff, great restaurant in a short walking distance (Il Refugio). Would recommend 100%. Barbara is a star!

It would have been nice if the pool opened earlier and shut a little later for keen swimmers and those distracted by the fabulous surroundings during the day

A lovely pool and great views. A very nice breakfast with lots of sweet and savoury options. There is a restaurant a short walk away where we were able to enjoy a super super in the hills surrounded by vineyards meaning that this was a truly peaceful retreat after a busyear day out.

Only slight thing to mention is the coffee for breakfast - a thermos of premade coffee - not great considering this is Italy

Great location - outside San Gim (30 mins walk) and looking directly towards the village - great views. Lovely setting - pool, tables/chairs, kids play area. Quiet. Nice room and bathroom. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Breakfast particularly good (except coffee - see what we didn't like) - bread and cakes from Barbaras other business - the best cake shop in San Gim - yes cake for breakfast is an Italian thing. There was also fruit, cheese/meats - the usual. Reception can also provide cold beer and water. Would certainly stay again.

We had a rainy night and we had a leaking from the roof in some spots. It wasn't fun at all, and when we told Barbara (Staff) in the morning, she apologized for it, but saying she can't do nothing cause it's not her fault. The next day it was sunny, for our luck. Also, If you're planning to travel in Tuscany, it better to be in Siena, because it closer to all the interested places and it faster to ride from there to other places in Italy (both rented car and public transportation).

The breakfast is better than in other places. The view is beautiful. Quiet and country side.

Our host initially offered us a room overlooking the swimming pool even though our reservation said "City View" and had been booked 9 months in advance. She apparently doesn't like to give the best rooms to Booking.com bookings. To deal with this issue, be sure to ask for room 6 or 7. These are the only rooms that have San Gimignano views. Some of the bathrooms are oddly configured so that you cannot completely open the bathroom door and the shower is up several stairs. Breakfast room will be quite crowded if the weather doesn't permit outside seating.

There were no negatives for us. We were on the first floor which was nice. They also said that they have an apartment for families and they did have some playground stuff in the yard for kids. Enjoyable place!

The location in Tuscany is near San Giminano up on a hillside with an amazing view over that picturesque town. It is a farmhouse with comfortable rooms. There are very pretty gardens and a beautiful pool. We ate inside the little breakfast building but in warmer weather you could eat outside with fabulous views. The owner owns the bakery in town so needless to say yum yum! Very nice people!

Would just have loved an extra pillow (although, getting one seems standard) and not to pay extra for swimming towels!

The beautiful setting; the swimming pool; the breakfasts; the hospitality; proximity to San Gimignano...everything

The location is fantastic and the owner and staff are wonderful people. They own the bakery in the local town of San Gimigano and the croissants they produce are the best in Italy.

Room towel use is prohibited at the pool. Instead, you must rent a towel for 5 Euro. I think they could have supplied a towel!

Great views across the vineyard to San Gimignano. Nice room. Private. Secure parking. Lovely pool. Delicious breakfast. Friendly host/hostess.

Our bedroom felt cramped and had no light at all. The bed was quite uncomfortable and there was a hair dryer in such bad conditions it had to be kept together with tape. This b&b is in the middle of the hill, so don't forget to buy anything or you'll have to walk 30' to town or drive to San gimignano.

The garden, pool and view are the best features of this b&b. The bathroom was quite nice, very large in comparison with the size of the room

    Can't think of anything!

We preferred to look at San Gimignano from our beautiful podere, and visit when we could avoid the throng at midday. San Elena is a stunning location with a terrific pool, great accommodation, friendly English speaking staff, and THE best breakfast anywhere. Wonderful!

We arrived in the evening, the owner drove into town to meet us & guide us to the B&B. The view is great, and they fixed a special supper for us, at reasonable cost. The room was comfortable, very quiet.
