We had a wonderful stay at the Portico del Paradiso. The room, breakfast and service were first rate. Scala is a nice quiet place but within easy reach of everything that you want to do on the Amalfi Coast.

Nothing. It was very quiet and pretty. A little out of town so if you are looking for busy then it’s not here but the staff were amazing and it was a lovely walk to Ravello. I caught buses to do the path of the gods which was a bit of a mission but so worth it.

If you don`t have a car, you depend on the small bus to go to amalfi. The bus has routes to the beach hourly, and sometimes not all the people can get in.

The breakfast is great. The location offers the sensational view like in the pictures.

The bed was exceptionally creaky with the slightest movement. A pool would also have been lovely, although we obviously didn't expect one from the description.

The lady running the accommodation was very helpful and welcoming. The hotel itself was situated in a lovely quaint area within walking distance of nice restaurants and a popular wedding venue in Ravello. The room had a large balcony with an exceptional view of the hills and sea, while avoiding the touristy chaos of Amalfi. While I normally pick a more modern style of accommodation, the wooden beams and traditional bathroom suited the general feel of the area and created an authentic ambience.

The double bed has a spring based frame and every move caused the mattress to bounce. The foldable daybed provided a solution.

Roberta and staff are very helpful. The view from the apartment is magnificent. The apartment itself is spacious and in our case the airco heating function worked well as we experienced a week of exceptional wet weather

The staff was super nice, friendly, and helpful. Scala is a quiet town away from the busy amalfi. It's not difficult to take a bus into amalfi for trips. Amazing views aswell!

Roberta was super lovely and helpful. The breakfast area has an amazing view and it's serviced breakfast, which I never had before when a breakfast was included. We had our own rooftop terrace with an amazing view! Can absolutely recommend!

The only issue is that the property is quite far away from the main tourist attractions so you must be reliant on public transport which could take up a chunk of your day. However if you’re after peace and quiet with incredible views away from crowds, this is perfect.

The bed was really hard, as were the pillows which made us wake up a bit achey. If you’re used to soft beds, this is probably not the place for you! There wasn’t much help to be had from the Reception regarding things to do/see etc. fortunately there is a tourist office just in the village, where the guy speaks perfect English.

The views both from the terrace and the balcony were straight across the valley to Ravello and were nothing short of breathtaking. The room was of a comfortable size for two, and was super-clean. The bathroom was of a good size and the shower was great, except for one evening when there was a localised power cut! The mini-fridge was restocked every day by the maids. There are a lot of grounds around the Paradiso, with fruit trees to read your book under, and a hot-tub, although this wasn’t in use during our visit. They have plenty of room for a pool, it would really add to the experience.

There’s nothing to not like here

Breakfast was amazing ! We had a variety of options to choose from such as fruits cereal yogurt bakery etc. also the hotels service exceeded our expectation. Any troubles we had they were right there to help us. Even going beyond to help us with transport to get back to the airport as we struggled a lot. Offers of transfers, taxis, coaches and a whole breakdown of the journey was given which was amazing as this helped us a lot ! Would definitely recommend this place to everyone. The balcony view was also really nice and big which was a bonus. We had not one complaint. :)
