Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Italy- the lift does not reach the fourth floor and stops operating in the hours when the reception is not manned - the mirror of the bathroom basin was not that suitable for women's make-up
- you can reach the city centre o foot (or by bus no. 10) - the hotel provides the customers with the Bolzano card, allowing free entrance to museums and free use of the transportation system (in the whole of South Tirol) - the hotel has a partnership with a neighbouring car park at a discount price per day

GreeceThe only thing missing is a kettle, a couple of mugs and dome sachets of tea.
Great location, very comfortable room, warm and clean, on a charming square, an excellent choice for Bolzano.

AustraliaNothing. Above what was expected.
Good size room, bathroom and cupboards. Block out screen great. Easy to adjust heating. Comfortable bed and pillows. Clean; towels and bed linen checked and changed daily. Safe in room - easy to use. Had a lift that could fit 3 people and luggage, and went to all floors. Great location - easy access to Bolzano. The reception staff extremely helpful. Gave information on transport, and attractions. The Bolzano card was a great gift and we used it the entire time we were there.

United KingdomLift did not go to the top floor so had to carry bags up from floor below. The room only had thin curtains which meant that the room was flooded with light at sunrise - this might be a problem for light sleepers. The hot food options at breakfast was limited to eggs and toast. Some other items would be nice.
Clean and comfortable hotel in a convenient location. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was close to a bus stop making travelling around very easy. The free travel card provided by the hotel gave unlimited travel on all local public transport at no cost. I plan to return for a holiday!

A rather small but nice single room with air conditioning. Everything was very clean. The hotel is close to the city centre. The hotel has a garage for motorcycles and bicycles, which is free of charge. Tasty breakfast with a sufficient choice of dishes.

GermanyNothing to mention.
Good location, easy to park nearby (Best Parking), huge selection in breakfast. The Bolzano/Bolzen Card puts the complete stay a level higher: free entry in multiple museums (incl. “Ötzi Museum”), cable car, public transportation, etc.

GermanyThe hotel is a few steps away from a bus stop from where it's possible to go directly to the city centre (old town), main train station and Ritten cable car. In the other direction, one bus goes to the mountain area (Kaltern; Mendel cable car). Perfect!! The Hotel participates in the initiative "Bozen Card" which means that you get this Card free of charge at the check-in (probably, the cost of the Card is included in the room rate - the Hotel is not really cheap). This Bozen Card gives you free public transport in the Bozen Region (busses, local trains, cable cars) and free access to some museums (including the important Ötzi Museum). Can be an interesting deal.

SwitzerlandWe had no warm water and the hotel didn't propose any discount. The breakfast is fine but nothing special. To have the parking place you have to pay an extra and it was not clear from the beginning. I reserved a double with a big bed and I got the first double with 2 beds. Nobody checked in advance and I had to notice to the staff.
The position is fine, not far from the centre. The rooms are clean and the staff met my requests. If you are a tourist this hotel is a good compromise.

SwitzerlandWe have no complaints.
Hotel is located a short taxi ride away from the main railway station and the town centre but Gries has excellent bus connections to the town and (for stays of 2+ nights) a local travel/discount card is included in the room price. .The room was spacious and very comfortable. The walk-in shower was excellent. The breakfast buffet was varied and of good quality. Reception staff were friendly and very helpful.
