Cooking breakfast on-site would help. Also, not enough storage in the room. we had no drawers to put our clothes in. this was not ideal.

The hotel was clean and someone was always at the front desk. /the breakfast was ok but the eggs were watery and the bacon was undercooked. The pastry was fresh every day. They didn't cook anything on-site.

Breakfast was disappointing. Scrambled egg and bacon only hot option. I don’t eat meat. No hot offer like mushroom beans etc. No seeds on display for fruit alternative or no berries. Apples and pears and brown bananas. Very disappointing

Even thought I booked a room with the option to pay at the hotel (I made sure of that), they charged the total amount a couple of days before our arrival. Thankfully, I noticed the charge on my account before paying anything else. Because it was winter (end of December) the heating was on. The problem is that it was too hot for us and we couldn't regulate the temperature. Luckily we had a balcony so we kept it opened at night to be able to sleep well (for most of the people this would not be a problem at all, but we do prefer cold weather and get hot quickly).

I liked the hotel decoration (the ceiling paintings, the statues, the piano by the reception, the entrance hall) and the nice staff. The buffet breakfast was also very nice and varied, even thought the juices were too sweet (maybe because the juice machine was getting empty). The bed was comfortable and had a balcony. Fair price and nice accommodation for one or two nights.

The breakfast is poor. For a 4 star hotel you would expect a much higher quality of food and drink. The towels and linens are also not what you'd expect for this rating. The towels are thin and rough and the hand towels appeared to be fabric napkins. We had several problems during our stay. the hotel's power had issues. This meant no lift, water or working toilet for 7 hours one day, followed by no hot water the morning after. These things happen, however, the attitude of the staff was awful. No communication, no apology, and they genuinely seemed confused as to why we were bothering them when we asked questions about it. We asked if they had a rough idea when it would be resolved, and we're told "it's Sunday, what can we do". As it was late in the day and the issue was not fixed, we asked if it would be possible to have our remaining nights refunded so we could stay elsewhere, we were told "No, there is no manager on a Sunday".

Lovely building in a great location. Good sized room. Lots of brilliant restaurants nearby and it's only a short 15-20 mins into the historic centre.

The breakfast is rich and the staff is friendly and provides immediate assistance. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to Plaza de España. The hotel's layout and furnishings are carefully designed to make you feel like you are staying in a small museum. There are many good restaurants around.
