Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IrelandCould be more gluten free options - particularly at breakfast, as the buffet didn't have many options for coeliacs
Lovely old world hotel with high ceilings and very comfortable bed. Fantastic location and friendly staff. Great base for sightseeing with Colosseum, Trevi fountain and Spanish Steps within 20 mins walk. St Maria Maggiore basilica is a real treasure just 5 mins walk away, as is the central train station.

United States of AmericaThe breakfast was not great. Our room was an adjoining room. The other occupants were loud and the sound came right thru the adjoining door.

United KingdomBeware of pickpockets in Rome.
We were delighted with the hotel. The location was close to the station with plenty of good restaurants close by. It is a traditional hotel with some very interesting pictures and a quirky lift. Restaurant is good with a nice courtyard which is used as an eating area in good weather. It was well used, even in April!!

United States of AmericaAC was not on for the season yet, it was warm at night, but they were able to give us a fan.
Excellent desk staff!! Very good recommendations for restaurants and responsiveness to requests. Great neighborhood for walking access to tourist sites, and to restaurants. Very close to a Metro stop, as well as trains at Termini. Felt like a safe neighborhood for two women traveling together.

United KingdomWe only ate breakfast here, did not have lunch or dinner as it all felt a bit stuffy, and not overly welcoming. We stopped for a drink at the bar, but it is not a bar area for relaxing in, the bar man was nice enough but it just felt like sitting in a room on the side of the restaurant, we had one drink and left shortly after, much better to sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere of Rome than in a cold room with no one else in it. Our room was small and hot, air conditioning did not work well with no windows, just double French doors to a view of a brick wall and a balcony that was inaccessible.
The location was great, just a short walk from the train station, 5 mins away from the hop on hop off bus tours. The hotel is friendly and clean, it looks the part and the breakfast was very nice. Excellent hotel for the price we paid, but you may want a better room if you want a bit more luxury.

GeorgiaIn overall, believe they are under staffed, you would not say there is much attention around you , two guys sitting in the reception and that's it, and when there is time for check in and check out, you as a regular guest might stay and wait until somebody can help
Breakfast was very poor, I expected much more than that, If I knew that I would take the hotel without breakfast and would have one just opposite the hotel in a very nice and super cheap coffee shop.

TurkeyWhen I think of Rome, I will remember that the middle-aged bellboy in the lobby was rude. Receptionist told my room was not available for early check-in, we wanted to leave our luggage in the luggage room. We were a little confused at this time. While we were looking around to see where the luggage room was, and as we were walking towards the door of the room, he called us "calm down, calm down". He rudely told us to calm down. When I told him that his words were rude, he tried to turn it into a joke, but his behavior was clearly rude. There was also a man standing in the middle with a surly face, looking like security, but I couldn't understand what he was. I made the mistake of asking him about where is garden. Without answering, he directed me to the receptionist via pokerface. Just bad side of my accomondation were these.
What hit me in my heart during my stay was the breakfast. There was a wide range of quality products. We had a legendary breakfast every day at indoor tables overlooking the garden. I remember sipping our coffees in the garden under the trees with soft music playing. When I think of Rome, this accommodation will come to my mind. The hotel was historic, elegant. The bed was comfortable, the room was clean, the bathroom was stylish.

New ZealandThe breakfast buffet was good but the dinning experiences disappointed. The staff were excellent except one who forgot our salad which arrived after we had to ask and at a time when our main was nearly over. Not good enough. The pasta arrived on cold plates and we think not quite el dente. The serving for us were too generous. To be fair the pizza on night one was good.
Loved the atmosphere and the historic story around the hotel. All staff were very good. It is a special hotel and I will tell my friends about it.
