Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandI was surprised about the €20 a day charge for the air conditioning, but maybe it was in the T&C and I didn’t see it.
We had a lovely week in Bardolino. The location was excellent.

DenmarkThe noise level from the road traffic at weekends is horrendous. Forget about having a conversation on the patio if it on the main road side of the building. The same applies when at the pool area. Ear defenders would be required if this was in a workplace.
Location a short walk to Garda lake. Short walk to town. Close to supermarket and petrol station. Good pool facilities and parking. Well kept outside areas.

United KingdomThe apartments are on a busy main road. If your apartment/room is on the side where the main road is, you will be disturbed by the noise of traffic, especially the frequent ambulances which pass by 10-20 times a day with their sirens blaring. We had an issue with ants in our apartment coming in via the bathroom. We were provided with an insecticide spray which reduced the numbers coming in but didn’t stop them. Air conditioning comes at an extra cost of 20 Euros per night which seems a little steep. In other accommodation we have stayed in we were charged only 5 Euros. The shower-head clamp was broken, so you could not stand underneath the shower, we had to construct a makeshift holder to be able to shower, using hair bands and hair clips. The hot water was also lukewarm for the first two days, perhaps because it was reliant on solar power & the weather had been overcast. We asked for a late checkout as our flight was in the early evening and it was declined, not even one hour extra. Eleonora insisted the cleaner must clean the apartment at 10am. We watched the cleaner go into our apartment at 1pm, so her inflexibility regarding a late checkout (which we offered to pay for) was rather unreasonable & unkind. We were allowed to remain by the pool, on our last day. There is a toilet next to the pool which is kept locked & we cynically felt it was because they didn’t want to clean it or provide toilet roll & instead forced guests to go back to their room. I asked for the key on our last day & it was granted. When I asked Eleonora if they could store our suitcases she seemed reluctant but did agree. The feeling we left with was that the staff regard the apartments as basic, cheap and (semi) cheerful, so don’t expect too much. We have paid much less than €1000 Euros for a week for the same basic quality in Greece but this is Italy so perhaps it cannot be compared.
Residence Beatrix has both positive and negative attributes. It is a convenient 5 minute walk to the shops, bars & restaurants, and a pleasant 8-10 minute walk to the harbour and lake side. We were in Apartment 18 on the ground floor. It is meant to sleep 4 adults but there is probably space for more. There is a large sofa-bed in the kitchen / dining room, and a small double (less comfortable) sofa-bed in the bedroom, as well as twin beds (pushed together). Our 4 year old slept in our bedroom on the sofa-bed without issue. The apartment is spacious and on arrival nice and clean. There were ample self-catering facilities including a microwave but no kettle. You are required to provide your own washing-up liquid, sponge & toilet roll which was fine as there is a large Spar 4 minutes walk away.

AustriaThe place is right next to the main road sr 249 with 24 hours heavy traffic on one side and a construction site on the other side - we booked for a week and left after the first horrible night - you can’t even sleep with closed windows. The staff is as unfriendly as the place - don’t understand how anybody can stay there…

Croatiato take care of our garbage, you get only one toilet paper (if you need more you have to buy) and there is no the equipment you need to wash kitchen utensils. Also it is necessary to leave the app clean as we found it. the bathroom could be renovated. big noise from the road next to the hotel, during our stay there was a moto meeting in city and the motors (engines sound) did not stop.
Car garage parking, swiming pool, location close to local market. the lady allowed us to enter the app around 11am no matter what check in from 3pm

SwitzerlandI was alone with my 3 kids and forgot several things because I had to leave quick. They told me they didn’t find my stuff (I understand that as a theft and had to announce it to the police). I received a agressive email from the owner which is quite inappropriate in such a situation. I think you have to believe your clients. I ever had such problem while I travelled a lot ! There’s not all the kitchen ustensiles needed.
Nice residence, clean pool. The apartment is quite nice with large terrace.
