Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.

The air-condition was not working well. Even though the management provide us with electric fans but the room was still hot and stuffy. Not suitable to stay during summer. The building has no elevator. Not suitable for senior citizens as they need to climb the stairs up and down.

The pillows are extremely thin. The shower doesn't get hot enough in the middle of the winter and that was so bad. The small fridge in the room didnt work. Apart from that, it was good.

No hot water even after leaving on for a long time. Did complain to staff. We had to skip the shower. Photos shown on Booking.com are no where close. Not a value for money.

There was no hot water in the showers, and it was very cold at night.
Very beautiful rooms and the location is amazing, as it’s located in the center of Venice, there are lots of bars and stores and shops nearby.

Decore Not true to picture advertised Much more dated and dark lighting Dirty bathroom and Kettle, smelly blankets. Noisy air conditioner

It was very dated, some of the plug sockets didn’t work and there was a kettle but tea only, no coffee.
The bed was relatively comfy and hotel located in a central position.

The WiFi was hopeless, only working for short periods in the room or at the reception desk. Bathroom was tired and not very clean. The front door was very hard to find and we were not provided an address by Booking.com. Very few locals even knew of it's existence.

Very noisy as the building is old, maybe need some renovations.

Check in procedure didn't happen until the next morning, there were no staff on site. I ring the intercom & I was buzzed in & I was there well before 9 pm. I took a key from the hook and found a room - settled. Unfortunately, I had mini cockeroahes crawl from under the red velvet cushions on the bed. I squashed them, but still bugs shouldn't be in or on the bed. ***The worse thing of all was I needed to carry my luggage up 2 flights of stairs.
The morning staff were friendly, helpful & attentive. The bed was comfortable & firm just the way I like. Bathroom is nicely done, clean & spacious, the room was large & decorated as per description on their website. The after staff a lovely lady helped carry my luggage down the 2 flight of stairs. I was extremely appreciative of her help.

The room was extremely small. We barely have a space to open our suitcase. Very uncomfortable. There was no internet during the whole time.

No lift; we wait quite sometime before the reception guy arrived so that we can check in.
Close to the main attraction, clean room. We can store our luggage after check out. friendly receptionist.

Bed - not the best. Bed was moving a lot. Carpeting /window covers could be newer or cleaner looking. It felt run down although it was clean. We wanted cheap in city center - it’s exactly what it is.
