Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNot necessary things we didn't like, mainly some suggestions: The supervisor of the property was only available by phone/text. We receive very little information before arrival, so we were a bit at a loss about what we needed to do when we arrived. It would be nice if they could have sent the relevant information through the Booking.com messaging system in advance. There was very little information about the property itself: it is set within a gated alley and a tenant needs to go down some steps and a stair for reaching property (About 25 steps in total). We didn't mind, but people with mobility issues may want to know in advance that there are steps involved in accessing the property; I don't think it is mentioned somewhere. The entrance of the property makes it look like it is located in a basement, but the building is situated on a very steep hill; the other side of the property is located on what looks like the ground or 1st floor of the building, so there was enough sunlight reaching the rooms, so no problem with that. The air-conditioning in the room was centrally controlled; there was a switch in the wall that apparently would turn it on/off but it wasn't labelled, had to ask the staff for the information. Unfortunately, in our room, the air conditioning stopped working a few days before our departure. We understand that these things can happen at any time but we had no feedback regarding if it is going to be repaired or when; The staff were kind enough to pass us an air fan but the air conditioning wasn't repaired for a few days. Internet was very temperamental and unreliable. Slow speeds in general and sometimes completely inaccessible. I believe that was the most important problem for most of the tenants.
Great Location: just a stone's throw away from Piazza Di Spagna; a lot of restaurants, bars and convenience stores are around, and within walking distance from the historic centre. Situated on a hilly street, but it was not that steep and you could easily reach the location on foot. The only staff we came across were the cleaning staff, which were fantastic, very attentive and they help us massively during our stay there. Many thanks! Rooms were comfy, with a standard hotel equipment: a mini fridge, an electric kettle and a hairdryer and basic toiletries . Large-size bathrooms with shower. The property seems recently renovated so some of the photos on the website do not do justice to the rooms. There is a Nespresso machine in the lobby you can use, and that was very welcome. We bought some capsules of coffee from the local store to use with the machine. A pleasant surprise was that they provided us with a cot for our baby, without us expecting one. That was very kind of them, and we are grateful. It was very difficult to find a hotel/room providing a cot, and we didn't expect one, but the staff were very nice to arrange one for us.

Poland- Lack of ANY contact. I was very stressed about later check in (30minutes). Had to contact booking twice. - Default check-in hours are strange. - In price there is included a breakfast in a bar, good looking but with terrible service and high prices. We didn't know that before 9 we can take only sandwich and coffee. This bar has terrible notes but food is not bad.
- Great localization. I used metro only twice. - Jay - a guy from Philipines was very helpfull, joyfull and hard working. - Price is very good for interior style, room size and place on the map. I liked also good looking bathtroom. - You could leave luggage for free after check out. - There was no problem to keep road bike in the room.

SpainI could hear everytime someone entered or exited the properly and I could hear the person in the room next to me. The cleanliness was an issue, lots of scuffs on the walls. The staff was not around most of the time. I had questions about checkout but they weren't there so I just left the key in the room and left when I had to catch my train. The room was basic but adequate.
The main thing is I realy enjoyed the location. Right next to the Spanish steps. You don't get any more central. I also liked that it was quiet even though it is centrally located. The staff were friendly enough but I only saw them once in the 5 days I stayed there and that was at checkin.

United StatesArrived at the place with no indication of how to get it or check in. We got in the main door without a code and the front door was open at the secondary door. They had a lobby but no one was ever there. Eventually they answered my questions via booking.com and told us our room # and the key was in the room. They advertised it was ground floor but it was 25 steps down. No coffee but had a coffee pot. Wifi could never connect. The TV was a challenge. Couldn’t get the safe to work.
It had a bed, a shower and the location was good.

IsraelWifi did not work at all. I contacted the hotel several times via the booking app and email. They responded only once and then stopped answering at all. Also, reading lamps did not work - the hotel ignored that as well. That's a shame - in 2023, it shouldn't be a problem to provide wifi.
The location is perfect, the room was very clean, bathroom fixtures were a bit old yet OK.

CanadaIt was dirty!! The bed had stains over all the sheets on the bed and the bathroom tub was dirty. There was no A/C or Wi-fi and no one at the property to talk to for my entire stay and no one answered any of my phone calls. This one was a NO!!
The only decent thing about the property is the location.
