Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

MalaysiaIt is hard to find parking nearby (and the Duomo parking garage was very expensive - wanting to change EUR 40 / night) so we parked a few streets away at a streetside parking. Also taxi’s could not drop us off in front of the building, so we had to walk a bit with our luggage. We were informed about this tho. Just something to keep in mind.
Central location with many great restaurants within walking distance. Very friendly owner - always reachable and happy to support in any way. Nice and well-maintained room. And a large balcony!

GreeceThe only downside of being in the center is the lack of parking. However, the Duomo parking is just 100 meters from the hotel and provides authorization to enter the centro storico with our motorbikes (I imagine with a car as well), though it is quite expensive.
The property was impressive, very comfortable, well-equipped with everything needed, and featuring a wonderful outdoor balcony that was a special bonus. The internet was fast, and everything we needed for breakfast was provided. We were literally in the centro storico and everything were very close.

PolandThe stay itself was way too short :)
Roof Garden in Salerno is a small (only 3 rooms) B&B. Excellent location, walking distance from station, port and the beach. A few supermarkets in the neighbourhood. We felt safe and comfortable. The room itself -spotless and really well equipped. The host- Roberto -FANTASTIC! He let us in earlier and allowed us to stay longer due to our travelling advetures :) good contact with him too. We will definately be back! Grazie Roberto!

United KingdomI couldn’t get the ladies football on the tv but I did not ask so my fault.
The information that we were given to do self check in was good but Roberto was there to help us. We went out and when we came back I couldn’t open the door as my hands were sweating so called Roberto and he came straight away. He kept us informed when he was coming to clean the room. The room was a lot bigger than I was expecting and very environmentally friendly. We sat outside on the balcony at night which was lovely. I would recommend it.

GermanyB&B, it would be wiser to drop the breakfast and have guests go to the nearby coffee houses.
Perfectly situated in the upper part of the old city, close to the ancient dome. A real Italian mediaval township, narrow, nice shops, ambitious small restaurants. The guesthouse has three rooms, each with its own terrasse towards yet another (inactive?) church.

United KingdomOnly a couple of small things - middle door lock was a bit challenging (but we got there in the end). No bedside reading lights. It would have been nice to have a lounger on the terrace as well as the upright chairs… small things that in no way spoilt our stay.
Great location, nice terrace/balcony, plenty of space in the room, and cupboard space. Decent bathroom and shower. Recycling bins.

We really enjoyed our week-long stay at Roof Garden B&B. The bed was comfortable, the room was spacious, and the terrace was a fantastic bonus—especially for a spot in Salerno’s old town. We spent time relaxing and snacking out there, which made for a lovely experience. The breakfast setup worked perfectly for us: an agreement with a local coffee shop just a 2-minute walk from the property, and we had coffee and cannoli each morning which were divine! There’s also a wide variety of other options of cakes and pastries available. The location was excellent—right in the heart of the old town and close to the sea promenade, on one of the nicer ends of town. There were plenty of restaurant choices nearby, along with a few supermarkets scattered around. Roberto was very helpful and always responded quickly to any questions we had.

It s surrounded by restaurants, cafes. The walk to the sea was a pleasure every morning and even the train station Duomo is really close that takes you to Pompei. Really wonderful place. The host is super accessible, and really happy to help. I had several Salerno related questions and he got back to me almost instantly. The place was super clean and comfortable. The location is truly perfect and close to everything. Tons of good places to eat and felt safe at all times of the day. The balcony is adorable and a great place where to unwind at the end of a busy day of tourism.
