Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

AustraliaI had a room facing the Arno which proved to be noisy with revelers out until 4 am. The bed was of poor quality
I loved the faded grandeur of the hotel. I felt I was on a set of Room with a View.

DenmarkThe bed quality was almost a deal breaker. The metal frames hidden behind the vintage wooden façade were making more noise than 2 skeletons dancing on a tin roof! Otherwise, a mini fridge and a safe should be considered basic equipment. Breakfast experience was a bit chaotic with a number of tables being littered with dirty plates from other patrons.
Amazing style preserved across the years. Halls and common rooms had museum-quality decor, that really gave an immersive experience during the stay. Lovely terrace at the top with cocktail service available both on in-hotel phone as well as WhatsApp. Friendly and super helpful staff! Car parking was also safe and convenient especially given the central location. The view overlooking the river was great with no impact on the overall noise of the room.

South AfricaLocation was good for a day or two in Pisa, not longer. Views of the river were exceptional. Was a bit noisy, but to be expected in the city. The hotel is very old and that comes with good and bad... good is that it is filled to the brim with history and art. Bad... water pressure is dreadful, and the bathrooms are vintage and not great. Staff were very helpful and lots of local restaurants and bars on your doorstep to enjoy.

United StatesThe bed it VERY uncomfortable. If you’re young, it isn’t the WORST thing in the world, but I would imagine it would be extra unenjoyable if you’re older. We managed, but sleep wasn’t as good as it could’ve been! Bed update is necessary!
The property was wonderful! The ancient history surrounding the hotel made the spot feel extra special! The balcony was so nice to sit out on and watch the night life while having a glass of wine or coke.

SwedenThe AC wasn't the best, the room was very warm however it's the middle of summer so I can't be too harsh.
Breakfast was better than expected. Very nice staff at breakfast. The location and history of the hotel was fantastic.

United KingdomWhilst obviously relying on its old grandeur, it could still do with some modernising and new beds.
Beautiful old hotel. It was like staying in a museum. You could just imagine what it was like years ago with the gentry staying there.

United KingdomWe had 2 rooms for our family of 4 which were on different floors. The plumbing is old so the cistern took a long time to fill up - which was annoying when I was trying to sleep - but eventually it did.
This is the oldest hotel in Italy (1050) so it's very special and super quirky. The staff were lovely and helpful when we needed to order coffee at breakfast, store luggage and call a cab quick (due to torrential rain).

United KingdomI think they need a better sitting room for visitors with a few more comfortable chairs and sofas and perhaps a proper bar. The drinks had to be ordered at Reception and brought up to the Terrace.
Location was excellent, facing the river and quiet when the windows were shut due to the air conditioning. The staff were very helpful and we enjoyed sitting on the roof garden with a cocktail in the evening. These were cheap in comparison to UK. around 7.5 euros. The furniture is old and very beautiful. We were in easy walking distance of the Tower, etc. and the side streets were great to wander in. We took a train to the Pisa Marina, trains are cheap, and had lunch down there and a train to Lucca on another day. There are buses to the station.

United KingdomThe people in the street outside can be quite noisy at night. I would have liked some facilities in the room..kettle mainly and a fridge would be useful. The hotel staff were able to provide some hot water in a pot on request.

IrelandI am hesitant to write anything negative but has to be said, our room 330 had a very old small shower, took me two showers to discover the cold tap was the hot tap.
We loved this quirky hotel, fantastic location, staff so very helpful, breakfast was adequate, maybe eggs and tomatoes would be an nice addition. Cappuccino lovely and as.many as you wanted, Great value for money. Favourite spot was the roof top garden where staff could bring you a drink or you could bring your own.
