Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

SlovakiaLocated right between bus/train station and centre of Catania. 10 minutes walk both ways. Right next door is minimarket where you can buy basic groceries. Really convenient. The host is a professional and honest man who is always happy to help. He was available when needed and had no problem with meeting our needs. We were there for 3 nights and each day we traveled somewhere else so we used accommodation as a place to sleep. But it has enough appliances to do more. I could imagine myself being there for much longer.

FranceThe apartment is in the 3rd floor with no elevator. I forgot to check this before booking, but it was a lot of stairs. Not exactly a problem of the apartment but of Catania in general: the city is dirty and has a lot of prostitution.
The bedroom is nice, cute decorations and the AC works perfectly (so important for this weather!). The bathroom is very big and good as well. Cleanliness was good too. The host was nice and helpful. Location is walking distance to a lot of restaurants.

FranceNot related to the B&B, but at night the neighborhood might not be the safest. Nothing happened to us, especially since Cristian recommended us which streets to take. But just to be aware of. Apart from that we really liked this place.
Very organized B&B, very clean, Cristian recommended us great things to do. The room is spacious and it had all the amenities we needed. Honestly all was great.

United StatesThe shower was really small. It would be helpful if a soap dish was installed on the wall inside the shower to put the soap on.
Cool place with a lot of character. The neighborhood looks a bit rough, but it felt perfectly safe and it's a short walk to the city center as well as the train station. It was very quiet, clean and well maintained, the wifi was fast and reliable and there's a shared kitchen. Good place to stay if you're on a budget.

United KingdomAvoid narrow streets in the evening. Evening life in this zone was a little frightening, but in a few days we got used to it. Christian warned, we were safe.
The house was clean, nice with a pleasant smell and very high ceilings. The kitchen had an old cozy atmosphere, with everything necessary. The location is very convenient, on foot you can reach all places in the city. The main thing in the house was Christian. He was very pleasant, gave a very detailed description of the zone and all places for visiting, food, beaches. It was lovely, there was an opportunity to leave things before departure.

MaltaThe street we were staying on felt a bit crowded at first, with a visible presence of immigrants and some street workers. However, they never bothered us at all — everyone kept to themselves, and we didn’t feel unsafe. By the second day, we realized the area is actually quite safe, but it's just something to be aware of when you arrive.
We really liked the room — it was clean, and having our own private bathroom was a big plus. The shower was a bit too small, to be honest, but everything else was perfectly fine. The owner was super helpful and kind, always ready to assist with anything we needed. I would definitely go again without a doubt! 😊 The location was also great — just about a 7-minute walk to the center, which was perfect for shopping and exploring. Traveling around Catania was really easy too, especially since Uber wasn’t very expensive. Overall, a very convenient and pleasant stay!

RomaniaThere is absolutely nothing I didn't like. Some people would complain that there is prostitution in the immediate vicinoty of the apartment, that you must walk up 3 flights of stairs without elevator, that the amenitirs are a bit old. But this apartment is not for fussy travellers, just for normal ones who need a clean room and experience the real Catanese life and hospitality. Thank you, Cristian!
Loved the location of the apartment, 10 min from the train/bus station and 10 min from Piazza Stesicoro and the center of Catania. Had a balcony, private bathroom with everything I needed, a big kitchen where you can cook your own food if you like. House is decorated in a vintage style, which I appreciated very much. Unique with a lot of old times charm. Cleanliness is perfect, host is very kind and helpful, if you ask him, he has great tips about Catania and the surrounding area.

PolandThe local is located on the third floor, so if You have a heavy luggage be prepared for a long climb:)
The hostel is very well located - very close to the train station and less then 10 minutes from the city center. There are few restaurants and a bakery in the neighborhood. The owner is very kind and helpful, there is a very good contact with him.

Czech RepublicThe road was too noisy at night, but nothing can be done about it.
Me and my family enjoyed the stay at Solsicily. The apartment was clean. we had a large room with a private bathroom, which was fully equipped. the biggest thanks to Mr. Christian for his willingness. He advised us the best places in and around Catania and helped us arrange our early departure by taxi to the airport (€22). Thank you and highly recommend.

North MacedoniaThe neighbourhood seemed a bit sketchy at first glance, but after spending some time there, we realized there was nothing to worry about.
The room was cozy and the host was incredibly helpful. One of the best aspects was the flexibility with check-in and check-out times. We arrived late in the evening and had to leave early, and there were no issues at all with this, which we really appreciated.

GermanyThe way to go to the beach is a bit longer (30-45 minutes by bus).
The host was really kind and he gave us some great propositions and tips what we should do during our stay. The apartment is pretty central and it takes about 15 minutes by foot to be in the touristic area where are also a lot of monuments.

Czech RepublicWe were satisfied with the accommodation. The room was clean. We shared the bathroom with others and it was also clean. We stayed a short walk from the main streets. There is a bus to the beach and we would recommend a more private beach (the gentleman who checked us in gave us several passes to the private beach and also recommended places to visit, restaurants etc). In the evening the street where the accommodation is located can look strange because of the people around, but there really is nothing to worry about. The accommodation has a kitchen and fridge. In short… we recommend and thank you!

United KingdomThey don’t turn on the hob there and it would be good to use to cook stuff. The location is in quite a dodgy place so that is definitely something to bear in mind. I wouldn’t want to walk alone there at night.
Kitchen was lovely - room was clean and well kept - toiletries were supplied and bins changed every day in room.
