Some undesirables along the street however easily avoided.

The property was close to the centre and I had a large room with ensuite. Exactly what I needed. The hostel manager, Cristian, was friendly and helpful from check in times, luggage storage after check out and recommendations for local food, drinks and beaches.

The location at the first sight looks dingy, though if you keep to the Main Street should not be a problem. Christian was prompt enough to tell us all that even without us asking for it.

The Host is super, he tries his best to make you comfortable, provide all he can, not only matierials that you need during your stay but also with his experience and advice. He tries to work hard to suggest you things to eat, where to go, what can be the cheapest and fastest means of travel. He is very accommodating and a nice person by heart. We took all his suggestions and tried them, surprisingly all came out to be really good. He does keep some Umbrellas, Beach Umbrellas and Hats for the comfort of the guest, a Refrigeratior and chiller specially for the guests. Has a great collection of tea and coffee to start your day. It’s a good place to be overall.

Christian is extremely hospitable and informative on whereabouts, will provide you with the most useful tips on local travelling. The room is clean, tidied up daily, has air-conditioning. The location is perfect, in the centre and 7-minutes walk from the station.

Doors are not muted, i could hear people talking outside of my door and basically every little sound from the hallway

During winter season when there was not much people i had private bathroom even though my option didn't include one, i just got key to one of the hallway bathrooms and it was only for me

It was a third floor with too many stairs and no elevator (we had already been notified about it). The stairs to go up to the attic room are very narrow. It was noticeable that the area was not the best area of ​​Catania, next to the alleys of the Bellini theater and full of colored people dealing and prostitutes although we did not have any problems.

The appartment was very nice with a big kitchen. There is a fridge available for the guests. The appartment has an attic and I got the attic room. It was big enough for two people, with a big bed, a sofa and a table. It had a private bathroom outside the room in a room below. The owner does not live in the apartment and leaves you peace of mind and privacy. We didn't get to know him. It is very close to the main streets or squares of Catania to move on foot. There are supermarkets and restaurants very close from the appartment. I recommend the place for a short stay very close from the center of Catania. It included towels and shower gel (very appreciated). I also had a payment issue at the beginning and the owner was very understanding about it.

not a real cons, but better be aware to avoid disapointment: - a lot of steps (4th floor and some more) - a little "shady" neighborhood, (at the first glance) - but in fact no problems at all and everything was cool - bathroom is private, although located on half-floor (nobody else have access there) - Kitchen is common - I take it as advantage.

Close to the Train and Bus. Not far from the city center and all attractions (10min walk). Beautifully decorated, bohemian, hippie place. Kitchen is common so there's even occasion to talk a little to other travelers. Owner is really cool guy - got a lot of info for you about city and how to get around. Location (street looks sketchy and dirty), our air conditioning was breaking down at night, but Christian helped to fix it, also there was no separate balcony for our room, even though description had it.

Our room was at the first floor inside the apartment, so there were a lot of narrow stairs to climb with our big luggage and it would’ve been better to know beforehand. The staff was not there to welcome us and we didn’t actually meet them at all, nor at the arrival, or at the moment of our departure.

The room is situated in a shared apartment (with four rooms in total) ten minutes away from the railway station and eight from the Duomo, but not in the safest area of the city. The room was very big, with air conditioning, a wardrobe, a couch; the bathroom was outside from it, and one ramp of stairs down. The room was very clean and taken care of every day.

It is in the worst street in Catania, a lot of sketchy African immigrants that are doing illegal stuff and a lot of prostitutes in the street. Female travelers shouldn’t stay here because it is pretty dangerous at night.

Christian was really nice. He picked us up from the airport for 20 euros late at night. And told us where to go around the town.

If you come to Catania, Solaicily is a nice place to stay, because of its location. Near to the bus/railway station, shops and restaurants. Our room was clean, as well as the bathroom. The owner was very helpful, he gave us a lot of useful tips.
