How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewThe rooms are specious, views are beautiful. The multiple communal areas were really well thought out and very nice. Swimming pool lovely. All the staff were amazing, very friendly and knowledgeable and really made the stay very special.
It’s not really walkable into the centre of Forio, but the hotel do have a shuttle to a few locations including Forio several times a day and a relationship with a local taxi driver.

Verified reviewEveryone is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are great, the view is magnificent, especially the sunsets. The pool is very beautiful, garden is really nice. The parmigiana di melanzane that is made with produce from their garden is fantastic, it is made by Francesco and Alessandro’s mother. Special thanks to Andrea, who makes every morning better. Many thanks also to Claudia and Louis, I enjoyed our conversations. Last but not least, thank you to Francesco for all the great recommendations, what to visit, where to eat and so on. I wish you all the best and hope to come again next year. Salute!
Nothing to complain about.

Verified reviewWonderful hotel , from the moment you arrive you are made to feel So welcome by the brothers Alexandro and Francesco and all the lovely staff, our room (suite) was quite dated but clean , pillows need replacing and air con in bedroom didn’t really work , the breakfast was good, lunch menu very limited but ok, no good at night so you have to go out , there are some restaurants within walking distance, one of them was amazing, this hotel is up in the hills I would not recommend to drive. The roads are made for horse and cart! They provide a wonderful shuttle service. This was excellent, there is a beautiful beach in San Angelo which is about 15 minutes away to get to the beach by water taxi it was wonderful look for the orange beds and they do a wonderful lunch there. Swimming pool area is very nice spotlessly clean, their grounds and gardens are beautiful and so pretty, I would definitely recommend this hotel. We had a gorgeous five days there they recommended some wonderful restaurants, we would definitely return.
Nothing not to like !

Verified reviewWords cannot begin to express how wonderful our stay here was. Francesco, Alessandro, Andrea, Claudia and the entire staff worked tirelessly to make our stay spectacular. From the amazing breakfast, pool, jacuzzi, panoramic views, lunch made mostly from produce in the gardens, drinks, shuttle to nearby towns and attractions, restaurant recommendations, they leave no stone unturned. We felt more like family than guests. Just book your stay and they will take care of the rest. This was the highlight of our vacation to Italy!!!

Verified reviewWe stayed at the hotel for our honeymoon, and we will definitely return! It is a special place, full of special people. All staff were kind, friendly and helpful. The property is beautiful, with amazing views of the sea from the top of the hill. It is a quiet location, and quiet, relaxing hotel, which was perfect for us. There are regular shuttle services to the local towns, which is great for when you want to go out in the day or evening. We cannot thank the hotel enough for making our honeymoon so perfect!
Nothing, it was perfect.

Verified reviewI didn't just like this boutique resort, I LOVED IT. It exceeded our expectations. Tenuta Del Poggio Antico is a true gem, a secret garden, a fairy tale come true: all of the above. The family who own and run the hotel care deeply about every detail-- and it shows! There such a difference between being in a place that makes you feel like a paying customer versus being in a place that makes you feel like you are a treasured guest welcomed into their family's cultivated paradise. Tenuta Del Poggio Antico does just that. I've stayed at many mega resorts that boast a carnival of all-inclusive amenities and felt like a circus. Tenuta Del Poggio Antico is dedicated to each individual guest's maximum comfort and quality of experience par excellence. The rooms were spacious and impeccably clean. We had a junior suite with a kitchenette including all we needed to craft our own snacks and drinks. The owners encouraged us to enjoy their bounty of produce grown in the villa's gardens surrounding the accommodations. I have never had more delicious lemons, cucumbers, squash, peppers, strawberries, etc. The pool is beautifully serene with a view of the ocean that surpasses any other on the island. The hotel is a short but exciting drive up the mountain and provides free hourly shuttles to local sites and/or you may pay a local cabbie (Antonio) to go across the island. We loved talking to Francesco, Alessandro and their family who gave the best local recs on things to do. I must also thank the shuttle drivers. In particular, Luis who was nothing short of a bodyguard/chauffeur in making sure we got where we needed to be and were picked up in good stead. Again, everyone on staff treated us like royalty! I've never experienced that with such sincerity from any other hotel. We spent a week here and left feeling like we were leaving behind family. In that same way, we promised to return and we will!
If you miss the shuttle service (to go out or to be picked up), you can call the cabbie Antonio. He's very entertaining but his timing could be a little different from his estimate. As could his pricing. Just be aware. Try to catch the hotel shuttles! Those staff drivers will take the best care of you and they're free. ;)

Verified reviewThe staff at Tenuta were incredible and experts at Ischia. They were so helpful at providing suggestions and crafting an itinerary for my stay. They had dozens of expert picks, and helped me narrow it down and plan my whole day from beginning to end. The shuttles that were available to pick up and drop off at main locations were also very helpful for navigating the island.

Verified reviewIt really is the most wonderful family run hotel where your every wish is met from the moment you arrive. They clearly care about you and have gone to great lengths to ensure that your stay is perfect. The views are stunning, the room gorgeous with a beautiful terrace looking down towards the sea. There are so few rooms that the hotel is so peaceful at all times and the pool area is huge for the number of guests and the gardens are stunning. Breakfast is divine with homemade pastries and marmalades, a huge choice of fruit and yoghurts, eggs, cheeses and cold meats and fabulous coffee. The interior design of the hotel is absolutely gorgeous. We hired a car and Francisco arranged for the car rental company to drop us back at the hotel so we didn't need to drive back the incredibly narrow road ourselves! What a fantastic hotel and such a lovely family. We will be back.
We loved everything but it is worth pointing out that the road that goes up and down to the hotel is incredibly narrow and winding. The hotel provides a free shuttle service and have a trusted taxi driver so it isn't an issue. Also there are 3 lovely restaurants within meters of the hotel.
