How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

Verified reviewAbsolutely famous destination, the embodiment of Tuscany, total peace, 7 km from the city of Siena, no problem shopping in the large Coop store. very helpful staff, especially Veronica from the reception, everyone is absolutely nice, wonderful!!!!!!!
ATTENTION, AIR CONDITIONING IS NOT PART OF THE EQUIPMENT OF THE ENTIRE COMPLEX (there is an exception in only one house)

Beware, no air con, just fans, which was not great in August.

Verified reviewSilent and with a feeling of beeing in the middle of nowhere without beeing in the middle of nowhere. It was a short drive to Siena.

Verified reviewThe apartment was huge and stocked with everything you might need. The location was peaceful and had a pool in the complex. It is also on top of a smaller hill, so it had some nice views, especially in the evening with the sun setting. There was also ample outdoor seating, to enjoy these views or a leisurely snack.
The complex has no bike storage and we had to carry our bikes inside each evening, which was a bit of a chore, since we were on the first floor and had some narrowish, steep stairs. So if you're visiting with bikes, ask for a ground floor apartment. It's also a bit remote, so if you want to eat or get something from a shop, you'll need to take a short drive for that.

Verified reviewGreat location, though you need a car/taxi to access it. The room was nice, peaceful, and we enjoyed the stay a lot!
It would have been nice if the kitchen was equiped slightly better with things such as cooking oil and basic spices, but this was not a big deal.

Verified reviewI never wanted to leave this place! It is the picture of a tranquil, beautiful stay in the Tuscan countryside. We stayed in a small house that was in great shape, had a large living room and kitchen, came with a toaster oven, Keurig-type espresso maker, fridge, etc., large bedroom, and clean, updated bathroom. There was a little porch with a table and chairs to eat or drink outside and take in the spectacular sunsets. The white gravel roads that run through the property link up with a quiet, beautiful walking path into a more forested area. It suited our needs perfectly and I would go back again in an instant.
Driving on the gravel roads into the property is a bit stressful the first time you do it. Once you get used to it though it's fine. The nearest restaurant is a bit of a trek down to get to from any of the apartments/villas so make sure to plan ahead when it comes to food! The shower was tiny and the water changed temperature of its own accord sometimes, but that's pretty minor.

Verified reviewWonderful location. What we had in mind for Tuscany Tuscany holiday
The shower was terrible. Very small. I’m a small guy and found it small. My friend who was a big guy, didn’t fit in the shower.

Verified reviewPerfect location amidst the Chianti vineyards and olive trees. Nice, clean and large swimming pool. Staff very friendly and helpful. Very spacious and clean apartment. Nice view from the apartment. Amazing sunsets. Only 10 minutes drive to Siena and 2 local restaurants at only 5 minutes drive. Free laundry service.
NB. Because of the pictures we expected to stay at the villa and to be able to use the swimming pool with the magnificent view from the villa, however, access to the villa and the pool are only reserved for weddings and not accessible for 'normal' guests. Difficult and slippery road to reach the Poggio. Only very basic equipment in the kitchen (e.g. not even a cutting board of wine glasses). Tiny shower. WiFi was not working great. Breakfast service would be nice. No air conditioning; being pregnant and with outside temperatures up to 37 degrees the apartment was unpleasantly warm inside.
Dear Claudia, thank you for the review. We are glad to know that you had a good stay in Monaciano. Use of the Villa's pool is exclusive to guests of the Villa itself, where more night stays are provided for private events only. The other pools in the farmhouses, the one at Poggio exclusive to the farmhouse of the same name and the other three nearby farmhouses, and the one at Monacianello usable only by guests of the respective farmhouse, are available to individual guests of the farmhouse. We thank you for your other considerations, which we will take into account to improve the quality of services to our guests. We hope to have you again among our welcome guests and a special wish for the arrival of the baby from all of us. Monaciano Staff

Verified reviewsuch a beautiful location, like in a movie. very lovely place,
some basic cleaning stuff (eg a sponge in the kitchen) and some basics like salt, pepper, oil in the kitchen would be nice to have in an appartment (in particular when it says ‚fully equipped appartment) actually everywhere else this is pretty much standard

Verified reviewWe had a great stay here! Before we arrived the communication with the staff was very nice, they were very helpful in giving us some recommendations and helping us with our late arrival. The estate is just a 20min drive from Siena and is absolutely beautiful! Perfect location to discover different places in Tuscany. We stayed in a 1bed apartment that had everything you need and very clean. The pool had an amazing view over the vineyard and Tuscan hills. During our stay we also had a tour around the villa and joined the wine tasting. Many many thanks for your hospitality and for the great stay! We will be back!

Verified reviewThe location was great and the staff were nice, But those are the only positives, unfortunately.
- Kitchen not well equipped. Instead of our planned outing in Siena that night, we had to run around to different stores after 20.00 to buy basic things for the kitchen (such as matches/lighter to light the gas stove, to have this ready for making breakfast), dishwashing things etc. - No AC. It was very hot. It's ok in the bedrooms as we had a fan on the ceiling but in the kitchen/sitting room, it was ROASTING. I had somehow overlooked this in the description, so if you are coming in summer, you may want to consider this! - No dishwasher, but also not provided any alternatives for washing the dishes. - The bathroom was mouldy (yuk, especially in the shower - this needs to be taken care of - it is disgusting). It is a very old bathroom (which is ok, I realise this is a farm stay and not a 5-star hotel), but my friend is tall so he did not even fit in the shower! - Overall, we liked the location but it was NOT worth the money, in our opinion.
