Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Little far from the main attractions and the proximity to a train station is not a good landscape to see.
The hotel is very well located just some meters from the train station. The view of the bar / restaurant was very nice and good relation to a near restaurant.

Double bed was two singles put together and both me and my partner returned from the trip with really sore necks/ backs. Rooms were soundproofed from the street, however the noise in the hallways meant that you couldn’t have a lie in, in the mornings
Rooftop terrace was great and we had our own private balcony with city views which was excellent, couldn’t fault the location. Nespresso Coffee in room was lovely as was the free minibar which we didn’t realise was complimentary as we were told only the water was free.

The room wasn’t as chosen through booking.com even though I confirmed in writing that I required two separate double beds. The staff tried to accommodate us but they did not respond to my email requesting confirmation that We required this.
Excellent Staff & Central location and the roof top terrace was great !

The breakfast was great and served in the hotel’s restaurant- which is lovely. There is both indoor and outdoor seating and a great view. This hotel is in a location convenient location-close to central station, and an easy walk to Trevi Fountain. The room was nice, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom and shower were nice as well. The hotel and room were very clean.

A bit tired lobby.
New German noiseless windows! This is really rare in Rome. Fresh in rooms renovation. Very clean. Marble bath&shower. 8th floor Rome view exceptional.

It did get cold at night & the duvet was too thin to do anything. Also, window was almost impossible to open in the day.
Loved that it was across the road from termini. I loved the kettle & coffee/tea etc in the room because I kept missing breakfast. The tv has a good range of channels. The wifi was average, can just about make phone calls with it. The staff were super helpful in storing my luggage & being patient with me when I stayed past checkout.

The Independent Hotel moved us to their other property The Tribune which was 5 minutes by taxi which they paid for. This was disappointing after a long flight and taxi ride we were not given any option. The Tribune family room was small and lighting poor. Otherwise it was fine.
We were moved to The Tribune Hotel. It was clean and the breakfast was very good.

The staff of the reception and hotel management as they asked to change me room service as full breakfast for a banana only I request instead of going to the restaurant as I was very sick ,,, although the brake fast is included

We had a lady calling us at 11 am shouting that we should check out .
Size of the room was nice with a beautiful balcony and the breakfast is served in a nice room on the rooftop .

Close to Train Station, easy walk. Comfortable room, balcony was nice to have coffee. Clean. Staff friendly and welcoming and helpful. Rooftop Terrace was nice

There is only one elevator. Very often we will need to go up and down through stairs.
The location is close to Termini station, which is very convenient. Room is clean with comfortable beds. Breakfast is with various options and with fantastic view from the top of the building.

The room was tiny. Trying to get served on the rooftop garden was painful. No bottled water, two free coffee for two people For the cost, it was poor. The bathroom smelt which you don't expect The recommended restaurant for two hungry travellers was expensive with tiny portions. We stayed at places half this price that offered more facilities. I would not recommend staying here if you are expecting to treat yourself. If decor impresses you, go for it.
The hotel looks nice. The roof top garden was nice. The bed was comfy

We booked a taxi through the hotel on the day of our departure, confirming Ciampino airport. Receptionist was on phone when the taxi arrived. During the journey from the hotel the driver held and spoke using 2 different phones and wrote messages with pen and paper. The journey was both concerning and alarming!! Turns out he headed to the International Airport, we advised him of his mistake, he told us it would cost 100 Euros for him to proceed to the correct airport. He did not have a meter in his taxi. This experience spoiled our holiday.
Breakfast was varied. Location was pretty central.

The location of the hotel is convenient - close to the Termini station, as well as to several bus routes. The view from the roof top bar is lovely, watching the sunset on our first evening was brilliant. The room was spacious, the A/C worked well, the bed was comfortable. Regarding breakfast, the coffee in particular was nice :)

The breakfast was served on the roof terrace which was a lovely setting but I didn't think it was the highest quality offering and was disappointed that I would be charged extra for a boiled egg rather than the scrambled on offer.
