The small roads leading to the hotel is little bit frightening at late night.

this hotel represents a new experience different from all the hotels that I had been to, despite its small size you feel, you feel like you are home, all the staff are so kind and friendly, very professional and the breakfast is so so delicious and there are variety of food, if you order any thing is not served they will make it,, we used to order dinner at our room each night because They have the best Pizza Margarita in whole Rome, The Tiramisu also is so delicious.. the location also is perfect near to many touristic attractions

It's a little bit overpriced - paid roughly 400 euros per night for a junior suite but I don't think the standard of the hotel really matches that in terms of its a little tired and rough around the edges - just in comparison to other places I'd stay at that price not quite as special or luxurious as you'd expect.

Location was excellent for all the sights, staff were helpful and accomodating, especially good service at breakfast. Breakfast is really very very good, best selection of interesting and tasty foods I've seen for a long, long time in a hotel breakfast.

Little hard to find as there isn't any signage outside the hotel (walked past the hotel the first time).

Great staff and friendly welcome (complimentary wine while we waited for a room to be ready was a nice touch). Hotel was neatly decorated. Breakfast was good (food was varied each day) and wait staff were excellent. Home baked cakes at breakfast was a nice addition. Adjacent Roman ruins and not far from the Colosseum. Don't have to venture far for good restaurants (although do some research and avoid the tourist ones).

A worthwhile place to stay for folks of a certain bent....
    • Leisure trip
    • Couple

    • Stayed 3 nights

They have taken an old building/structure and done a great job of upgrading it to make it a great B&B type of small luxury facility. However, that level of effort still falls a bit short of providing the physical facilities some might consider the definition of a 5-star hotel. This is not a criticism of effort or outcome; it is just what they had to work with.

Superb staff with Very Personable Service; Great breakfast; Outstanding walkable location for being a central Rome tourist. And like the rest of Rome is described--a lasagna, the hotel, itself, has layers of Rome's history, to include physical elements of Imperial Roman times...sort of fascinating.

Wonderful hotel in a fantastic location. Tucked away amongst a residential area you wouldn't even know it was there. Only a 2 minute walk to the Colosseum and other tourist sights. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance and the best gelato shop (Flor Gelato Italiano) just around the corner! Breakfast was included every morning which we really enjoyed. Wasn't a huge buffet but the food was great and they always had a little something different on offer every morning (baked fresh from the kitchen). They will also make omelettes, pancakes and waffles on request. Staff were very lovely and helpful. They organised a transfer from the airport and a private tour guide for us. We booked the studio room which was lovely and ample room for us. It was nice and quiet and the bed was comfortable too so had great sleep! Also, behind the reception desk was an underground cave/tunnel which you could go and sit and have some wine. It was very cool! Would definitely book this hotel again.

Ancient Rome Feel - Great Location!
    • Leisure trip
    • Couple
    • Superior Double Room
    • Stayed 2 nights

We were disappointed at first to learn we would be staying at the annex of the hotel. The annex was just a few doors down but appeared to be a mix of hotel and private residence apartments. Unfortunately our A/C in the room was not working but the staff provided us with a fan which was tolerable. They offered to change our rooms but with only two nights there was not worth changing rooms after the first night. The room was small also.

The good was that the hotel was situated very close to the ruins and the Colosseum on a dead end street with a Roman water fountain and ancient steps to close-by restaurants or to hail a taxi for further destinations. The underground feeling of the catacombs in the lobby added to the unique ancient Roman feel of this hotel. The rooftop patio was its overwhelming redeeming point with cocktail service in the evening and breakfast in the morning with sweeping views of the city's most notable buildings. Its proximity is outstanding and Chris should be commended for his outstanding service during our stay, along with the night manager and other bellboy (cannot recall name) who brought us late late night dinner on our last night. A unique stay in a convenient spot of the city.

Can't fault it really, for us it fulfilled all of our needs.

Excellent location, easy walking distance to all the major sites, but set off the beaten track, so nice and secluded. As soon as you walk in, you know you are stepping in to history as they show you the crypt, just through the reception area. Great booking in process, hand over your passport, they do all the work as you enjoy a glass of wine and some fabulous home made tiramisu! Our room was just next door which they called a Luxury Studio Apartment, very nice, and it had cooking facilities if you are so inclined. My recommendation would be eat out, and take advice from the team, there are some great restaurants very close by. Rooftop breakfast, great buffet and amazingly attentive team looking after your every need. Fantastic place to also have a nice quiet drink in the late evening (before 11.00pm) then it's closed. If your a late party animal, stay in town!

Our 2 bedroom apt was not as advertised. It was not actually located in the hotel, but rather in a nearby apartment building. Thus, rather than staying in the comfort and friendliness of the hotel, we were in a noisy and somewhat dirty aprtment complex. Our upstairs neighbors played loud music throughout the night, and you could hear every step on the staircase. Overall, our accommodations were adequate, but certainly not as advertised. When you pay 600$ per night, you expect to stay IN the hotel, not in an annex. We also a brief interaction with the staff involving taxi that was a bit off putting. Overall, though, the staff was nice and accommodating.

Breakfast was good and staff was mostly friendly. Beds were quite comfortable.

The only problem we encountered was with the shower. The shower screen did not meet the bath so the water leaked every time we showered and flooded the bathroom floor. Very minor problem and we made the most of the jacuzzi bath tub instead
