Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaBit pricey.
The bed was the best that I had in 3 months in Italy. Movie posters on walls gave it real character. The non english speaking lady was very nice. Her son spoke English.

IrelandOne thing the owners might do is to describe how to find the hotel - there is no sign just intercom, so we were a bit lost. We rang the phone number displayed on Booking and it was all sorted though.
Location was excellent, we got to Rome by plane>train - and from the station to the hotel we walked 10 minutes. It is also close to bus stops and metro station. 15 minutes walking from Colosseo. Bedroom and toilet really clean, the lady owner would replace the towels (and tidy up a bit) every day. Shower with hot water and no problem with heating/electricity. Another positive was that on our last day we could leave our bags at the hotel to go for a walk, even though we had already checked out.

SloveniaThere is very little to say regarding things we didn't like. The son of the wonderful owners is a fluent English speaker who can help with any practical issues you may face. I honestly have no complaints.
I have delayed writing this review as I don't feel as if I will be able to do justice to the overall experience we had in Rome, however it is fair to say that Vacanze Romane contributed to this fully. First and foremost, the hosts were as hospitable as can be. Whether it was the advice on what to see or where to eat, or the welcoming way in which we were treated as part of the family, I cannot express how grateful we are to have a new set of grandparents. I am lucky enough to speak Italian and I think this enhanced the experience but sign language and pointing are just as valid ways of communication. If you find yourself in need, their son will explain any of the technical details. Breakfast was not offered, but the apartment is located right around the corner from Regoli Pasticceria where you can have a coffee and Maratozzo (deluxe cream bun. I had hazelnut. I still think about it at times). Also there is no kitchen but, trust me, there is enough on offer in terms of high quality, affordable food in the area to keep anyone happy. The room itself was very clean and comfortable. It was starting to go from warm to hot during our stay, but there is a fan on the ceiling which provided all the cool air necessary. A private bathroom is provided with a shower. The place is in an almost ideal location; there is a metro station practically outside the front door and a lively park just beyond that. It is walking distance from Termini and a plethora of sights. Honestly, just go. It was marvellous.

CanadaWhile the bathroom is big and spacious, the toilet is located inside the shower area, so if you need to go, you have to take off your socks. The bathroom area did start smelling a bit after a few days of being there, but it was cleaned daily.
The location is perfect, the area is very quiet so you get to sleep easily, but less than a 15 minute walk to the colloseum, and 10 minutes to the main train station and subway stops. The decorations in the house were really cool, the room is cleaned daily so you always get new towels, and most of all, the hosts are extremely sweet (and a wonderful Nonna!), they leave you be, but are always there if you need anything and try their best to give you a great experience! Thank you for the stay!

GreeceThe area was a little scary for two female travellers. But if you are really careful with your staff you wont have any problem. The couples didn't speak English but we communicated perfect in body language. But when you arrive their son will be there to welcome you and to give you all your information you need in decent English.
It was a room inside an apartment where an Italian old couple leaves. The room was really really clean and it smelled really nice. The bathroom was really clean too. Everyone is very welcoming and nice. The lady cleaned the room every time we left the room and we find it more tidy than we left it. The decoration is very unique with a retro Italian vibe from different italian movies. It is much prettier than it looks in the pictures. We recommend this place. The location was really close to the city centrer for your sightseeing and next to Monti, which is a really nice are for your food and drinks.

GreeceWe were in Rome end of August so it wasn't so warm, but since summer in the Mediterrenean region is like hell, a fan or an air-condition in the room wouldn't be a bad idea for other guest who will stay at the room in June/July.
The house was located close to the train station (5min walking distance) and to the centre. The old man who is the host was very helpful and hospitable (he wasn't speaking English but we managed to communicate with him). It did felt like we were living in our parent's place but there was nothing wrong with it. I enjoyed it! As about the room, it was confortable and the bathroom (shared) was always clean and there was warm room. Do have your flip-flops with you, since the bathroom is on the same corner with the shower.

SerbiaAs other guests mentioned, bathroom is a bit difficult to use (shower and toilet in the same area, floor in toilet area can get wet, bring your crocks), we had no issue with that, we knew what to expext and overall it was good value for money. Blinds on window were locked - it would be better if they could be opened, but there was a ceiling fan anyway.
Convenient and safe location, few minutes from Roma Termini, metro stop infront of the building, walking distance to Colloseum and other tourist spots. Extremely nice and hospitable hosts/owners, the hosts provided us with electric kettle, mugs, tea and cold bottle of water was brought to our room when we arrived. Bathroom and room were clean. We had privacy all the time. Check in and check out went smoothly.

TurkeyThe location was so good and close to all attractions that we skipped taking the bus or metro and kept walking anywhere.I still feel the pain in my legs:)
- Anselmo, the manager is a real gentleman and he was very helpful during our stay. Our room was very neat and clean with a large window opening to a nice and quite alley. They offer daily room service, AC and a brand new mini fridge. - Location is great, just steps away from Termini station, a main subway line and a bus stop. Anselmo may not be the best English speaker, yet he is smart and there to help you all the time. Just use Google translate and you find yourself chatting with him about anything. -The place is a great value for money with its pleasant and friendly atmosphere.
