Each review score is between 1–10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We're currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate "subscores" in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Strange interior decor - a lot of black marble and our room had mirrors on the ceiling (not exactly in keeping with the relaxed vibe we were hoping for!)

Because this was an older building, there were lots of corridors and stairways, although there were lifts available. Navigating around the building was not too easy.
This was a lovely boutique hotel with a flair for decoration. The Breakfast room on the top floor gave lovely roof top views across the city. The location made it easy to get to the places I needed to.

The hotel has lots of stairs and two very slow lifts. It was good exercise for me, but it often meant a long wait for those in my party with bad knees. The room I stayed in was small. The room was beautifully designed but really quite compact. If you are a tall person, you may find it claustrophobic. The room was also stuffy, and the airco did not work. Opening the window was the only option to cool the room. We did catch quite a bit of noise until late at night from the people visiting the bars next door. I routinely bring earplugs, so not a big issue for me.
The hotel is well located within easy reach of shopping, bars, dining, museums and other sights. There is also a metro station not too far away. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms and the hotel were classy and clean. The design is Art Deco/Cruise ship. The hotel has a super speakeasy-style bar where we had lovely cocktails while listening to a great jazz band. The rooftop restaurant serves a good breakfast and has good views across the rooftops.

There aren't major comments about the hotel. However, just like most hotels the light in the room was very dim. Also, there was a magnifying mirror in the bathroom attached to the main mirror. But since the sink was very bulky, it made it very difficult to reach it for someone petite like me. :)
I think I found my new favorite hotel in Rome! The location is perfect. 1 minute from Piazza del Poppolo, 8 minutes from Piazza di Spagna. The hotel itself has this rustic décor and atmosphere. Everywhere was super clean, including the public bathroom near the reception. The room was thoroughly cleaned every day. Temperature of the room was perfect, as we visited end of January and the temperatures were quite low. Breakfast has a wide selection and as bonus is served on the terrasse in a sunroom. But the best part was the staff. From check-in, everyone was very helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. We were lucky to have our room ready before check-in time. When I requested a different room, they accommodated me before I even unpacked (We were also lucky that a room was available). Thank you, Francesca! I also asked if they had another blow dryer as the small one in the bathroom kept heating up and the gentlemen at the reception (I didn't catch his name) bought us a new one on the same day! Even the two bellboys who helped us during our stay (Ahmad & Ahmad) were extremely helpful and kind! Thank you to the whole Valadier hotel team!

My boyfriend and I tried to drink in the bar, and the workers denied the entry because the service was only for man and girl, and We felt so humiliated.
