Everything - the location, the tranquility the facilities and the staff couldn't have been better. Half an hour to the coast for the Maddelena trip and just 40 mins to the airport too.

.The beds were too hard for our taste. Maybe the area of the pool could have used a bit more shade, because we had 38 degree celsius! The place was very remote, so we found ourselves driving a minimum of 20 mins for the first village (we stayed for a week, so we drove quite a lot :) ).

The hospitality of giullia and vanni. And the lady that served us breakfast every day. Im gluten intolerant and they provided me the ultimate schar collection ;) so this made me very grateful! The swimmingpool is perfect.

Not a dislike, but be aware there is nothing around the hotel, so you will need a car to explore. The day we stayed (mid May) there were thousands of caterpillars, not the hotels fault, it's a natural occurrence but you had to watch out not to walk into them hanging from everywhere.

We stayed here for 1 night and were very happy with the room and the food. The dinner and house wine were excellent. The staff were very helpful and gave good advice.

Only negative is the double bed was two single beds and we could always feel the space between.

Rooms could get some updgrade, especially with plugs and furniture (some years have passed). Also breakfast could be a bit more elaborated as it is included.

The place is marvellous, the calmness and the beautiful spaces. The swimming pool is also superb! I would highly recommend if you want some calm time

This stay was ideal to relax an enjoy the beautiful view on the lake that was nearby. The room were very spacious and the breakfast an diner were delicious. The swimming pool was great and had a nice view. There was a lot of choice at breakfast. The personell was very friendly an helpful if some information was requested. Our most beautiful and relaxing stay in Sardinia! We will come back!

The swimming pool area needs some shade when it gets hot. Additional activities like table tennis, frisbee and other things to play would be a nice addition.

Beautiful lake view and place. Large rooms, very quiet and away from traffic, noise, everything. It is serene. Lovely welcoming and kind staff that are eager to make your stay comfortable.

During my stay at Hotel Valkarana Country Relais, I noticed that while the hotel offered stunning views, friendly staff, and a delicious dinner, there were a few areas where improvements could be made. Firstly, the floor tiles and coverlet and blankets seemed dated and could benefit from an update to make the room more inviting. I would be happier if the color of towels would be white not cream. Additionally, I was disappointed by the limited availability of brioche during breakfast. Other guests had highly recommended trying the brioche, but unfortunately, there weren't enough available for me to taste it. Despite these minor drawbacks, I would still recommend this hotel and hope that the management will consider my suggestions to enhance the guest experience even further.

Their understanding and accommodating behavior demonstrated a level of humanity that is often hard to find. I'd also like to commend the manager for their exceptional hospitality and for creating a welcoming atmosphere throughout my stay. We visited the hotel in September and there was not much to do around. On the hotel website they mentioned excursions but nothing was available during our stay.

The location of the hotel is amazing! The food was delicious and the best meals i had on the island. The Staff and owner were very welcoming and gave us suggestions on where to visit. It was so nice of them 😊

A beautiful hotel in paradise. A place for those looking to relax and rest surrounded by beautiful nature, yet close enough to the coast and little towns for day trips. The ambience was wonderful, the pool perfect and the service and food at the restaurant was top. Polite, kind and helpful staff. We loved every minute here.

One small thing was that our rooms terrace was actually a narrow path which just accommodated two chairs so wasn't comfortable to sit out on, however the pool and reception areas provided good places to sit so it didn't impact too much. Most other rooms did have a terrace so we were just unlucky I suppose. Also a small table by the pool loungers would be good and the pool umbrella coverings could be renewed as they're showing signs of wear.

Friendly and welcoming staff combined with a spectacular setting and good food made this the highlight of our holiday in Sardinia. The hotel is 'hidden' in the mountains giving it a sense of a retreat but the coast is easily reached by car when you want to explore the many beaches in the area. The food is top class and very reasonably priced resulting in our eating in the hotel on both nights of our stay. Room was spacious and comfortable with a good view of the lake

Generally all not good, but excellent. Only one thing, there is not too much shadow at the pool area. I am not sure if it can be done... but if there would be more shadow, we would definitely spend more time by the pool. And a bar by the pool would be nice either.

One of our best experience! We followed a recommendation to pay a little bit extra for a room with the lake view, and it totally worth it! We did not plan it, but after first diner there, we ate only at their restaurant, daily menu (every day 3 different delicious dishes + dessert) with a couple of pitchers of home wine, sunset, lake/forest view... it is magnificent! Rooms clean! Pool and pool area clean! The territory of the hotel, looks like there is a team of professional gardeners taking care about.
