Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomIf I was being fussy, the bathroom probably needed a bit of tlc, as things were starting to drop off, but otherwise I enjoyed my short stay here.
This hotel was really friendly and full of character and atmosphere. I loved the old, painted walls - apparently it used to be a convent - I was only there for one night, but the breakfast was good and the bed extremely comfy. Only 5 minutes from the station

United KingdomGiven the age of the property its internal decoration is a little tired but still well run and clean.
An ideal location for the main railway station plus easy walking distance to the main tourist points of interest. Whether for business or holiday the hotel is a good option for either purpose. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

AustraliaNoisy area. Room phone did not work. Air- con operation erratic. Small 32 inch TV on a desk (not that we came to watch TV) impractical.
Proximity to Florence Santa Maria Novella station (5 min walk), markets ( St Lorenzo), many food options and city.

AustraliaThe a.c is turned off when they think you don't need it. But turned back on when requested. Not a big deal.
If you like character and living in history this is for you. Bedrooms are simple but adequate. Lots of common areas with comfy seating. Location was 5 mins walk from train station and walking distance to main attractions Staff were very helpful. I would stay again.

United Statessmall bathroom, very uncomfortable pillows (this seems to be the rule in Italy, with hard, rubbery pillows). Bed was ok, but squeaky. Beware of mosquitoes! Not really the hotel's problem, but I've never seen so many vicious mosquitos in a single room. So, keep windows closed when the lights are on. Can't comment on AC, since we traveled in September, so we didn't need it.
Nice staff, good location, it has its own parking (did not use, but it's there). It's a historic hotel, in good condition, and it has an elevator. Pretty close to everything. Safe area. Close to train station as well.

Azerbaijanit was close to the train station, great location in terms off arrival, getting to the hotel and leaving the city. the hotel was clean. the bathroom was small, but it wasn't a problem for us, since we didn't spend that much time in the room. also I had no other options in this price range in the city since I had to book a week before my stay in September, the whole city was booked. The hotel is in old historical building, pretty much like the rest of Florence, which was charming in a way. good to know that they have an elevator. they offered us breakfast for 8 euros per person till 10 am. since we didn't try the hotel's breakfast I won't be able to comment on that.

CanadaExtremely small bathroom, where a corpulent person might not even have room to move. You can hear noise from adjacent rooms. Some repairs are still needed. In a way understandable for a building this old. Check in could be smoother, we got there at 1:35pm and had to wait until 2pm to get the room. Note to the hotel, a warmer welcome means a lot for guests. Check out was better as we left earlier.
Location, close to train station and restaurants. Building is from 16th century and presets visual interests. You can see some of the original frescoes. Each door has a different look, with a reproduction of a portrait. Kept fairly clean. Our room faced the interior court and had no street noise.

North Macedonia- The mattress on the bed had a dent in the middle and the pillows were not comfortable at all, which resulted in a sore back. - We were told that the price for renting a car space is 20-25 eur max when we made the reservation, but when we arrived they told us that the max price is 30 eur, so keep this in mind.
The location was excellent - a short walk distance from the main attractions. There’s paid parking provided if you’re traveling by car and the roam was really clean and spacious. We also appreciated the instructions on how to avoid the ZTL zones when traveling by car.
