Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

I found everything was excellent.
Apartment is very located and connected. It's very close to St. Peter Basílica and there are a lot of restaurants around. Staff is very kind and helpful, giving all facilities to make your stay quite comfortable.

Need to carry 4 keys to lock and unlock doors.
Convenient location; have closet, hanger and rack to put stuff; quiet room, working air conditioning; having a mini refrigerator; Close to metro, very close to Vatican Museum.

The bed could have been softer and the lock system in getting in was confusing.
The location was great!! The owner was so helpful before our stay in answering questions, arranging taxi and letting put us put luggage in room early.

Vatican Town was scrupiously clean, perfectly placed for Vatican City. Close to a wide variety of cafes and restaurants I fact everything you need is on your door step. Train and buses are nearby too. Massimo is a kind and generous host.

Loved the location of the hotel, the room was comfy, clean and good for its size, it was very close to many restaurants, mini markets, and shop outlets, staff were all very friendly, and it was a good secure building,

The location was superb, right beside via Ottaviano and the Metro and a short walk to the Vatican. Max in reception was really helpful and friendly. There was a great place nearby called Lemongrass for breakfast.

Great location near the Vatican. The staff were amazing; super helpful with all our needs and questions. The offered a nice little breakfast around the corner which included a croissant, cappuccino and fresh orange juice each morning.

No complaints, great bang for buck.
Locationwise perfect b&b type of accommodation, very friendly staff. Breakfast at the local Lemongrass cafe was basic but very good nonetheless (freshy made juice, coffee and different sorts of croissants).

The check-ins and check-outs are a little bit tricky, but there is information about that in advance. Be careful with the breakfast! It was not clear to me, what exactly is included.

The beds were not very comfortable but I guess that's subjective.
Massimiliano was available to us and helped with whatever we needed. The location was phenomenal! 3 minute walk from S. Peter's basilica, and from the Ottaviano metro station. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend it.

The breakfast provided within the stay served in a separate bar across the street were rather modest, consisting only of a croissant, coffee and juice/tea.
Good location in walkable distance from the Vatican city, be it the St. Peter's square or Vatican museums. The metro stop Ottaviano was also in a walkable distance, what made the whole city conveniently accessible. The city centre was also reachable after a longer stroll. The 2-member staff was friendly and the whole accommodation was cleaned daily. The room was equipped with everything necessary for a short stay (AC, hairdryer, towels, kettle, toiletries...)
