The breakfasts were very basic. There one plate of ham and cheese and one of sliced tomatoes. There was bread you could toast but this was very dry. The croissants ran out on most days in the first 45 minutes. We were told there were no more available. The jam was a type of processed jelly. Somedays there were apples but mostly the fruit on offer was tinned pineapple rings or tinned prunes. The fruit juice was long-life orange juice or a very vivid green apple juice in individual glass bottles. More like a highly sweetened child’s drink. If you wanted cold milk with cereal you had to ask (even then you often got hot milk). The coffee served was one small cup (even if you asked for a cappuccino) and if you wanted a second cup there was a charge of approximately 3.50 Euros. There was no hot food available. Loud music was played throughout breakfast. We never had dinner there. The dining room was rather grim with no atmosphere. We asked if we could have a drink but we were told by the intern that the bar didn’t open until 7pm. There were lots of mosquitos and even though we made extensive efforts not to open the windows, somehow they managed to get in. We averaged 2 or 3 bites each per night. The room although nicely decorated was very tired; especially the bathroom. There was a peculiar shower in the middle of the bathroom with a curtain all round. The shower head did not fit properly in its holder so the water just shot out to one side. The tap to turn the water on/off was a lever that stuck out into the shower area so if you did manage to rinse your hair with the wonky shower head, you ended up turning off the water as you knocked it with your back. The hair dryer was pretty useless. There were two tissues provided for a 7 day stay. There was no pen or paper. There was no full length mirror. The plug sockets came away from the wall. The safe in our room didn’t work. It took two days before anyone looked at it.

The hotel had a good location. There was ample parking. It was quiet as there were so few guests. Probably only four other couples at any one time. The owner (manager ?) was friendly. There was a nice view.

Okay if you arrive by car but for us walking its another kilometer out of the village and to get to any restaurants with choice close by you are walking on a busy road at night.

We slept well and breakfast was lovely to be walking the Via Francigena.

Room rate was high for a hotel that is infested with mosquitoes everywhere even in the room. We had mosquitoes repellent and anti mosquitoes bracelet...but it does not work. We could not stay in the pool area at all. B'fast and dinner area is the same , full of mosquitoes and we could not enjoy our meals. Chef and waitress were kind but we were not informed of additional charges for meals. We were unpleasantly surprised when we checked out!!! This last point should be taken note of for future hotel guest!

    Dinner was good!

Would like to have been able to make a cup of tea when we returned late as it was very hot and we'd already drunk the water in the fridge.

Lovely views from breakfast room and terrace across the hills. Handy location for visiting nearby Tuscan attractions and vineyards. Very friendly staff. Visited for Andrea Bocelli concert in Lajatico and was great that hotel wasn't locked up when we returned at 1.15am!

The room, La Luna, was beautiful. The hotel was very quiet, clean and the breakfast was very good. The pool area and gardens were gorgeous. It was never full the nights we were staying and so food and drink was limited.
