We visited in May, when the hotel wasn't very busy. It covers quite a large area, so sometimes it was difficult to locate the staff, if, for example, you wanted a drink by the pool. The lighting in the dining room is too bright, which gets a bit oppressive. Turning off the top lights would create a more intimate feeling. The music in the dining room was a loop of orchestral jazz - dull and ultimately irritating. I think the staff would appreciate a change too.

This is a beautiful hotel on the edge of Gaeta, about 3 km from the historic centre. It's a converted convent, which makes for interesting interiors, but it's the gardens, around the pool and breakfast room, that really make it a very attractive place. Our room was a good size, very clean and comfortable, with a nice bathroom. The food and wine in the restaurant were delicious and excellent value.

Rooms cramped and austere, 3* quality. Hotel geared heavily to meetings and banquets. Restaurant serves "hotel"/"banquet quality food. Breakfasts mediocre.

Beautiful historic estate with some updated facilities. Well maintained grounds. Distance from downtown a plus or minus, depending on your view. Very helpful staff.

I think a 4 star hotel should have had a gym...just a few weights and a few machines etc i think the hotel is missing a trick, if they had a decent gym they could a offer memberships to the locals and increase their footfall for the restaurant/ bar . I would have been happy to get up and use the gym before breakfast. We didn't use the restaurant as we never saw a menu and as vegetarian we like to know whatwe can be offered.

We stayed 4 nights off season. Lovely room overlooking pool. Gracious staff. Enjoyed sitting by the pool. Easy bus ride to Gaeta or Formia, bus stops right outside and you can buy bus tickets at the hotel, Nice bars and restaurants left out of the entrance in Formia. Ample buffet breakfasts, cappuccinos available no extra charge. You could order eggs if you wished- not sure it that would be charged. Very happy with our stay.

The bedroom did not have the following things which I consider to be standard: 1. no tissues 2. no hair conditioner separate shower gel or body lotion 3. no complimentary bottle of water. The room service breakfast was pretty poor a roll, a croissant and supermarket toast in a packet. The full breakfasts was better but not what you would expect from a hotel of this standard and cost.

    Wonderful garden

Somewhat isolated from downtown Gaeta, however the bus was on time and took us to old town in 20 minutes. Drove to town another night and found parking difficult.

Beautiful property and facilities. Regrettably, could not use the impressive pool due to cool November weather. The staff was very helpful and the room excellent. We ate at the on site restaurant and were impressed with the facility, food selection and quality. Great breakfast buffet.

The style of the hotel is not suited to low season. There’s a lack of places to sit, relax, have a coffee or a drink outside of your own room. The restaurant is lovely but only open for mealtimes.

We found the breakfast to be limited with a rather poor selection. Whilst the hotel grounds are very nice the location of the hotel could be better as it is quite a long way from the nicer part of town. They had several weddings in the grounds which took the focus away from the hotel guests at times.

The swimming pool was huge and enclosed by hedging, wonderful. The staff were very helpful and courteous.

The shower was very small, but adequate. We had a triple room, which was a little small. The only main concern was the air conditioning was behind the single bed, so did not function as well as it could have, If it was only a double room, then maybe it would have worked better. You could not walk from the hotel into town, and needed to drive.

Very clean hotel. Nice big pool. Staff were lovely. Hotel grounds are lovely. Complimentary pool towels, very spacious around the pool. Breakfast was fine. Food in the restaurant was lovely.

The Hotel has to decide whether it is a Hotel or a noisy disco. The first night there was a wedding and loud music went on until 02:30. The drunken wedding guests started singing "O Sole Miooo" until 03:30 AND AFTER THAT THE STAFF STARTED CLEANING THE MESS AND CARRYING AWAY ALL THE TABLES UNTIL 04:00 with all the noise associated with it. When complained, the Front Desk staff said they were sorry (not convincingly) and shrugged shoulders. Not a word more. Walls of the rooms are very thin and all the noise outside is bothersome.

The pool and gardens and breakfast.

Service average and food just about ok. But restaurants just across the road do decent pizzas for less than €10. Be prepared for slow service everywhere in this town, it is what it is.

Pool was great, and ideal for families when it's very hot. Rooms were well maintained and cleaned to a high standard each day. Setting of the hotel is lovely and easy to relax poolside during the day.

Nothing.... perhaps a kettle and tea bags in room and an english language film channel on the TV would be nice - but CNN and BBC are there so good

I liked the palatial feel of the property, the spaciousness the giant pool, how un-crowded it was and relaxed and the excellent friendly service and great chef - not too old style not too new style - perfect italian food. the price of the hotel for what you get is excellent and it is so perfectly maintained - the wonderful relaxing orange and fruit and olive orchards with all home grown produce was just perfect - and then on top of that there is a spa service - humble but great and good prices - we cannot fault it - I stay at over 20 hotels per year for holiday and work - this is my favorite - better than most 5 star in my opinion - and a 5 min taxi to Gaeta town for some modern italian seaside holidaying with very few non-italian tourists makes for the perfect holiday for those liking to get to know a different culture - wonderful
