Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

GermanyVilla Mucellena We spent two wonderful weeks at the beautiful Villa Mucellena. The entire complex is very well maintained, quiet and exudes a special feel-good atmosphere. Our apartment was clean, spacious and tastefully furnished. The beautifully landscaped pool area is the perfect place to relax and refresh, especially during the warm summer days. One highlight was the freshly prepared, high-quality food – some of which was sourced from the resort's own garden. Every meal was a delight and was absolutely top-notch cuisine. The idyllic location of the villa at an altitude of around 500 metres also made the summer temperatures pleasantly bearable and provided a fantastic view of the Tuscan countryside. The friendly and dedicated team further enriched our stay and made us feel completely at home. We would love to come back – a clear recommendation for anyone looking for relaxation, enjoyment and Italian hospitality!

IrelandNothing. It was a perfect stay for us.
Viola and her family were super hosts. Our room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean. We booked fresh pastries and coffee each day for breakfast. Great value. We had lunch one day cooked by Viola and her mum and the food was amazing. We also took the opportunity to take a cooking class which was so relaxing and fun. We were attending a wedding at Castello di Celsa and Villa Mucellena's location was very convenient for this.

GermanyNothing. Everything was perfect.
Villa Mucellena is a must if you want to visit Tuscany. We stayed there for three nights on our road trip through Italy and we were so amazed by the experience that we came back at the end of our trip to spend there our last three nights. Viola is the best host you can imagine. She is friendly, responsive and always happy to give us some good local recommendations. If you go there, definitely do not miss out on booking a dinner, if she makes one. Even better than most of the restaurants we visited. She also offers a cooking class where we learned how we could take a small piece of Tuscany with us back home. Truly a great experience we will surely make again next year!

NetherlandsBeautiful location. The staff is super nice! The pool was a bit cold and there was no high chair for our baby.

ItalyNot a major thing but the basic TV wasn’t working or needed additional information (there’s Netflix and. similar platforms that you could pay for…). We didn’t have time to investigate to ask… Also, breakfast is not included but you can make a request for a classic Italian breakfast. If you are gluten free, you probably should bring your own breakfast as I did. There’s a supermarket about 20 minutes away that you could go pick up food before or during your stay.
The entire experience was very pleasant. We stayed for 2 nights and this new establishment met our expectations - friendly staff and attentive to our needs….very peaceful atmosphere and the room was clean.

NetherlandsAs you can see with the location on the map, the nearest larger town (with supermarket, ice cream place) is about 20 minutes drive, so you need to plan your outings a bit. At the same time this makes the place extremely peaceful.
The room, outside terracces, the pool (!) and most of all Viola who was extremely welcoming and helpful. we had two unfortunate incidents, of which one medical, and she did not hesitate to support to the best of her abilities.

PolandNothing. The place is really perfect
Villa Mucellena is a lovely place, ideally placed between Siena (25 mins) and Florence (55). You sleep in old, beautiful villa, you swim in a poll bigger than it looks on pictures. And you can have breakfast and lunch - very tasty and affordable. The staff is veeeery helpful - thank you Anna and Viola!!! Great place to stay for a few days!

United KingdomI think they should consider giving at least a croissant or some form of breakfast to those that are room only given it's isolated location. It doesn't present as very good value otherwise. The villa needs to work for those room only rooms as well as the self catering units.
Very relaxing stay. The villa and grounds look beautiful. The smart TV's with a Netflix account are a nice addition. There was good signage from the road so it was easy to find the villa.
