If you want to know how a family-run mountain-style grand hotel looked like in 1968, come and see it. Nothing changed since! Not all is vintage-beautiful, and most would need refurbishing, but overall the basic facilities are well kept up. You'll get a top notch location with stunning views, decent services and overall splotless cleanliness at a very affordable price. The two of us were given an apartment with balcony, 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms for 40 euros per person! Breakfast is ok in a beautiful room with a view, parking available inside, the pool is sort of operational, all the other sports facilities are not. Atmosfere was festive in August, with loads of foreign and local tourists, and a few elderly people enjoying the crisp mountain weather in the huge park around the hotel. Hard choice: should it all stay as it is/was or should we encourage the management to continue their steady modernisation and refurbishing efforts? Good luck anyway.

Most of the Hotel. It was in the middle of nowhere, and a bit creepy. It was like going back in time, it hasn't been touched since the 80's. There are signs that the hotel would've been nice once, the empty restaurant, the empty child's pool, overgrown tennis courts, over grown crazy golf, the signs of a once thriving hotel. It is not very family friendly. The hotel doesn't serve meals and you can't get taxi's anywhere from the hotel. The town is off the main road which is too dangerous to walk along, so you must drive to get one mile down the road.

The view from the breakfast area.

Its too far from the main roads up the hills, it can be difficult to find. Dont expect them to help you when youre in need of help. The reception is unreachable by phone. We called 10 times and nobody picked up. We also lost something in the room, which they confirmed finding and promised to send back, but they didnt do. The hotel looks good on the pictures, but in reality its very bad. Uncharmingly old, uncomfortable, low quality, post-war spaces. Unmaintained. Pool is dirty and turbid water.

    Its cheap...

The room and bathroom could do with a bit of renovation although everything was functioning properly

Spacious accommodation with 2 communicating bedrooms ideal for a family of 4, and plenty of shelving/storage space; lovely view of the surrounding mountains, Lanusei town and the sea; friendly staff and lovely little dog; good swimming-pool with a separate paddling pool for young children

The hotel has its best behind, but in the times of its glory, it has to be "a thing". You can see the lack of money for the huge complex, but the stuff is doing its best. The location is perfect, stuff is nice and the price best!

The hotel itself was quite old-fashioned, some renovating would do good.

    Absolutely a lovely view!

Rooms a bit old fashioned, old furniture but clean (outside the balconies). Pool decent, but other facilities like pitch, mini golf very neglected.

This hotel is a good example for the variety of 4 star hotels - do not expect more than a youth hostel with private bath room.
