Lovely hotel, excellent breakfast. Did change the triple room we were first allocated, as the online picture was misleading, initial room had no windows just the door to a large terrace. We opted for a room with a window, balcony doors with a small balcony. Location wasn’t ideal but we managed with taxi’s and buses, if you’re not fit like myself the walk from Giardini Naxos is a bit of a climb at the end of an active day, and in the heat of the summer would be far harder.

Hotel is within city limits of taormina and website said 500 meters from center but this is misleading. Very steep and dangerous road to city. It’s actually in Giardini Naxos.

Beautiful property located between Taormina and Giardini Naxos. Comfortable and immaculately kept rooms, lovely patio, gardens and pool area. Friendly and helpful staff and good breakfast buffet. Best suited to those with a car as you need to drive up the hill to the large car park to go into Taormina centre.

The location of the property was the biggest problem. It is situated in a valley below Taormina and was at least 500m from the main road which was dangerous for pedestrians. The sea front was a further 200m, but a usable sandy beach was at least a further 800m as was some of the restaurants. The majority of the restaurants were a further 500m along the front, consequently it was a long walk to eat. Although the property is close to the main town of Taormina as the crow flies, but due to the topography accessibility is a problem. Walking up the steep and winding road could not be considered as there is no provision for pedestrians - far too dangerous. Hotels further away would not have been an issue as they would probably been on the main access routes for public services etc. A taxi from the hotel takes 5-6mins and is 15 euros - extortionate, but sometimes necessary.

The size and quaintness of the property and the staff.

It's not the hotel's fault but Taormina is a difficult place to get around in. We should have followed the directions on the Hotel's website. The GPS had us going around in circles. The hotel's instructions were much easier and more precise.

Great breakfast, Giovanna is there to start your day with her cheerful attitude. What a treasure she is. Every one at reception was extremely helpful and friendly

The hotel is beautiful, We had a good sized lanai on which we could see the sea. The inside of the hotel is spotless, filled with interesting antiques and is well appointed. Best of all were the staff! Helpful, friendly and fun. Giovanna was especially helpful and friendly. We loved this place and wish we could have stayed longer!

There is a bar but to get a drink you have to ask whoever is on duty to go there and prepare your drinks, this can be awkward and many people will feel uncomfortable with this process.

It was very much like renting your own villa for the week, we had the ground floor suite so only had to step outside to take breakfast or a swim, there are only circa a dozen rooms so it was always fairy peaceful. The owners and staff are all delightful, inside the building is wonderfully cool and delightfully decorated, breakfast caters for all tastes.

Great breakfast. Good location, away from the nightmare streets of Taormina when driving (get the cable car up and back only 8mins drive from hotel). Also for a change pop out to dinner in Gardino Naxis, only a 6min drive away. Plenty to watch and lots of restaurants. Helpful and friendly staff. Recommend.

The beds had no box springs. They reminded me of the kind of beds we had in our college dorm. There was no elevator so we had to walk up 44 steps to reach our room on the top floor. This hotel is not in the center of Taormina. It's closer to Giardini-Naxos.

I liked the excellent breakfast. Very nice lobby, beautiful setting and great view of the sea from our terrace. The staff were very nice. The woman who served breakfast was particularly pleasant. Parking was plentiful and never a problem.

Our 'superior' room with a 'sea view' had a view onto the very busy main road next to the hotel, and our balcony overlooked it therefore we kept all windows and shutters closed at all times. When we politely queried this we were not met with the appropriate response from the manager/proprieter.

Some of the staff were fantastic and friendly, the breakfast was great and it is a pretty, old villa.

Building site and main road next door to Villa. Very noisy and starts from 5am. Location is not great about 15 mins from Taorminia and some distance to nice part of Naxos ( not a nice place either. very dirty). Reception staff could be a bit better on languages and helpful re requests. Villa does not cater for ironing everything outsourced. Watch out for the wasps at breakfast time along with mosquitos around the pool area in the afternoon.

Breakfast was nice and a nice assortment for choice. Car parking for free in the Villa grounds. Pool area is nice and quaint.Rooms are large and ceilings high. Not 4 star a good 3 star old style.

Nothing really, though the one downside of being nearly 3000 feet up Etna and having fine views is that it is quite a steep drive to get anywhere and local walking isn't easy. Given that television was Italian only plus one French news channel it might have been nice to be able to play CDs or DVDs.

It is an excellent place for relaxing, swimming and reading. The property is comfortable and quite well fitted out. The owner and his wife were extremely helpful and welcoming. We would warmly recommend it.
