Having to pay for parking, it should have been made clearer that their was a charge to park in the Hotel facilities.

Unfortunately the jacuzzi bath wasn't working nor was the television, which I managed to fix myself as they couldn't. My husband hit his toe going into the bathroom as it was up a step which he didn't see as the lights were inside the bathroom. No tea or coffee making facilities which I think is very disappointing.. There was a fridge in the room but it was so loud we had to turn it off at night.

This hotel is filled with an eclectic range of furniture and art work with the most amazing view of mount Etna Staff were helpfull and pleasant

The pool area was grounded and the snack bar while very good was all on top of each other. We had a large terrace which could easily taken sun loungers but were refused. No English/ American TV just for the world news

Food at bar could be better and bar in general seemed understaffed. Areas of the hotel seemed under used (terraces with seating, hot tub, areas around the bar area by the pool etc)

Stunning views, very comfortable rooms for a great nights sleep. Food in restaurant excellent. Centre of town easily accessible through shuttle bus and public transport. Reception staff very helpful

Breakfast is disappointing. The fruit and dairy options are good but hot food and pastries were not appealing. Breakfast options are better in the village near to Castlemola (well worth a visit). The room we stayed in was basic but we were out a lot anyway.

Location is incredible in terms of views and the pool. The shuttle service the hotel offer is great to get into town and there are more options via the interbus / hop-on/off bus. Taxis from Taormina town were €25 at night to get back to the hotel.

The room was quite small for 2 people, the bathroom was very dated with a tiny shower, there was no hooks to hang towels etc. It just needs a bit of TLC

The location was beautiful with stunning views, the staff were super friendly and attentive, there was a nice pool and bar area, simple but nice breakfast. It was lovely and quiet perfect for relaxation!

The hotel is extremely old and really needs renovation. Breakfast was served so slowly that the guests were waiting in a line to get the scrambled eggs. And be prepared to clean up the table after guests who eat breakfast earlier, since the staff members were unfortunately quite neglectful when it came to cleaning.

Absolutely loved the ambience. Whilst some say dated I’d say traditional. Also loved the location and the short walk to Castelmola where the restaurants and shops are. Pool area was fab and great views of Etna.

Fabulous views. Lovely staff. Authentically italian hotel with all the facilities that you want. Just a short walk up the hill is a number of nice little bars and restaurants.

Everything could do with a bit of money spending on it. It would be a shame to modernise too much but things need a face lift Like the reception area and Especially the bathrooms which are frankly poor The pool area with nasty plastic furniture needs upgrading a bit But As a simple low cost starter - just get rid of all the nasty red bed spreads (really just clean white linens all that’s needed - bed spreads in hotels are frankly revolting!) and whilst at it the red table cloths need to go to. Simple White table cloths pleeeease!! Yes you might have to clean them - but that’s kind of the point?! As has already been said the food at the pool and at breakfast is ok but not great. Having said that my kids thought the frozen croissants and carton OJ was absolutely brilliant!

The AC was not powerful enough. It was not cool enough in the room. They were ants in the room.

Villa Sonia is a hidden gem, stunning scenery and amazing views from our room and pool. The breakfast was delicious and served on the terrace with views of Etna, a fantastic start to the day. A short walk from the bars and restaurants of Castelmola
