Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe found it a little difficult with my elderly mum as our room was at the bottom of the hillside, however it was fine for the rest of us!
We had a lovely sea view room, which we all loved! The rooms are a little dated, but it was very clean and comfortable, as were all the facilities available.

United KingdomThe site was quite hilly, but that is no fault of anyone, of course. It is quite difficult to park if you are taking a car, and parking generally on the Amalfi Coast is very limited. I would advise not taking a car and using public transport wherever possible. The buses run every hour from Baia Serena into town, so it is quite convenient. The trains to Sorrento are also very frequent
The views from the property were excellent, and the pool are was very nice. The accommodation is basic, but perfectly adequate. The staff were friendly and very approachable as well.

United KingdomIt's very high up from the main town, there's a bus stop outside, however last bus is at 21:30 and be careful as the taxis try and rip you off.
Loved the pool and the beautiful views. The owners were lovely and helpful. The Air con was a god send.

IrelandOnly problem was the bed bug bites. Dont forget to bring skin cream like hydrocortisone. Because the place where we stayed was surrounded by trees. Overall was great , very good experience. Highly recommended.
What I like most was the location , the view from the pool was marvelous. Overlooking the gulf of Naples.

Swedenif you dont have the car it may be a challenge as your entire schedule will be planned based on timings of only one bus which runs every 1.5-2 hrs. you will easily lose 3 hrs of vacation time everyday. our chalet was located so much down in the property that everyday while coming to the main road to catch bus it felt like a challenge. It is quite steep walk. The nearest grocery store is 500-600m away but on a steep path which is quite tiring. The washroom wasnt in perfect condition If you are in habit of walking everyday then maybe you will manage but otherwise it is tiring.
the view from the chalet is amazing and totally worth it The manager guiseppe who is quite nice and helped us with our queries Kitchen was Ok and wifi worked fine except one night when it just stopped working.

United KingdomThe bungalow although spotlessly clean were old and worn. It didn't ruin our stay though.
Views were excellent, a quiet and friendly site with a few restaurants within walking distance. Transport ran regularly and a good base for Vesuvius, Pompeii, Herculaneum and Sorrento.

United KingdomYou need a car to fully enjoy remote location, mid may swimming pool and bar closed, you need very good weather as there was no space to sit down with friends inside of the little house but outside was just ok.
Beautiful sea view, house facilities were adequate to the price paid. Host was very polite and helpful.

NetherlandsThe chalets are becoming a bit older and some maintenance will be needed, our chalet did not exactly match the description and pics on Booking, narrow steep road down not so ideal for longer cars, better park those up hill.
The stunning sea view, the nice pool area and other places to sit and relax. A restaurant and small shop on the location and last but not least, great hosts.

IrelandThe long walk uphill to get to the entrance of hotel was very challenging at times - also the dangerous road the resort was on With many bends and low visibility made it treacherous to cross the road.
They did not make it clear that there was no restaurant facilities until I was checking in-they were due to start in mid June despite the resort being fully booked

IrelandThe accommodation was very basic so if you want a little inside space this is not for you. We were 3 adults and found it very tight. The property also is build on the side of the mountain fantastic for the view's but a lot of steep slopes so not great for older people or if you have young children in prams. We didn't realise when booking the season hasn't started so we didn't have the opportunity to taste the food on site also no supermarket near site for your basics this could be a problem if you don't drive.
The owner & his wife were exceptional 👏 couldn't do enough for us. Gave us great information about getting around and where to see. Always on hand if you need anything helped us book our transport from airport & back again . Definitely the best host I have ever dealt with . Also having the use of a pool was a plus . We did love the views from our bungalow and it was spotless clean. And again you will not find such nice host .

IrelandThe drive from the main road was short but steep and narrow with hairpin turns. Suitable for a small car and drivers who can cope with this kind of road. The accommodation was a tight squeeze too.
This is a really fabulous location, the views of Sorrento and Naples exceptional. The most scenic swimming pool ever . The owner Giuseppe was very helpful would give advice and book anything you wanted for you tours, scooters etc. Buses from the road into Sorrento etc. There was ample parking for the not faint hearted drivers! It was a lovely place to stay perched on the cliff and the owners made the best use of the site.
