Everything was amazing, but cleanliness could be slightly improved. There were a few insects in my room (but that might be due to it being a garden annex room).

The view from the villa is incredible. It is infront of the train station but you barely hear any noise. The location is walking distance to the centre of the town and the main attractions. The hosts were also very sweet and helpful.

The room was amazing, with an incredible view of the lake and a great ensuite bathroom. It was immaculately clean and comfortable. The morning breakfast was lovely, with slight changes each day to make it different. Above all else, the hotel owners, Mauro and his wife were so so friendly and kind and made our experience even more memorable. Before we had even arrived, Mauro went out of his way to ensure we had restaurant bookings as we were visiting during high season. Nothing to complain about and I 100pc will be staying there again! 10/10

We absolutely loved our stay in Lake Como!! This property is beautiful and very quaint! It was just what we were looking for! The views were amazing from our room. We did a really cool Timelapse at sunset that turned out so beautifully! We actually showed up early and were welcomed with opened arms! When the train station is finished this will be the perfect spot for a vacation!

A scorpion crawled under the bathroom door and came after my fiancé while he was using the bathroom at 3:30am (not venomous).

Our room was extremely spacious and we had a covered patio area that was perfect! The views were spectacular and it was very peaceful and quiet. Breakfast was good, especially the fabulous juice! Mauro and his lovely wife were wonderful hosts! We highly recommend Villa Varenna.

The hotel overlooks the railway line. The railway station was closed for refurbishment but I can imagine it might be a bit noisy?

The bed was super comfy and the breakfast was perfect! The air con was great and much needed. I was lucky to have a large private patio and it was so relaxing to sit there reading my book.

Last bit of walk up to Villa is on windy road with little space to walk on side of road. Must use caution

Lovely old Villa, remodeled, room 6 main floor, very large, nice views., has 7 rooms run by Mauro, so helpful with restaurant suggestions, our travel plans, what to do in Varenna. Delicious breakfast served elegantly on front patio. Most delicious croissants, coffee, fruit, yogurt, granola, cheese. Best restaurant next door La Veranda Dei Pescatori, amazing gourmet with beautiful views.

If you arrive in the evening, there is a lock box where the keys will be kept to enter the villa. It was a little confusing, following the instructions I shared with the owner, how he could make it more explicit.

The suites are enormous so you feel unburdened by the other guests. There are only I believe maybe four or five rooms. There is a nice view. It is right next to the train station, which is convenient however, the train is currently being worked on. Mauro prepared a lovely breakfast and we really enjoyed chatting with the other guests.

Soundproofing but it is a lovrly old villa; clue is in thr name. If the trains had been running might have been very noisy. Right on a road with myriad hairpins too but then Varenna is touristy.

Location. Lovely owner even found me a safe place to park my motorbike. Great breakfast. Clean and neat. Close to ferries

Wonderful location with beautiful lake view over the veranda. Easy to walk to downtown and close to train station. Very cozy and charming. Breakfast each morning on the veranda was amazing!!! Full table setting on china with excellent service and food. Such a lovely way to start each day. Would definitely stay at Villa Varenna again.

Bed was not as comfortable, but still had a good sleep.

The owner Mauro was outstanding. He made us feel comfortable by chatting to us and making simple conversations. He made us feel at ease and welcomed in his property. The room in the attic was perfect to the point it felt like sleeping at a friend's house thanks to the homey and cozy atmosphere. Mauro also sorted out a car parking spot for us and he was happy to serve vegan options at breakfast. What a lovely stay. Thank you.

Unfortunately, the trains stations in Italy are undergoing renovations currently. As this location is immediately behind the train station, there was a lot of construction noise during the day. This is said to be completed soon and is no fault of the villa.

The owner was wonderful. We also had an amazing terrace overlooking the lake.

Currently (summer 2025), the train station is closed. So I came by bus from Lecco. If you don't have a car and came by bus I would recommend trying to find a taxi to avoid hauling your luggage up the hill.

Same breakfast every day Hard to find initially Was not aware that the train station had been closed. Half of the trip was by bus and old directions fr the station could not be used. Walk to or from the water or town were up or down steep hills with few sidewalks and curves that felt unsafe with traffic.

Huge room, fantastic breakfast, good location except that there wasn’t much choice to buy snacks . Closest supermarket was in Lecco -4o minute drive. It is up hill and road can be dangerous walking cases but walk is not too bad
