Real Bookers. Real stays. Real opinions.
Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

JapanThis is a place to sleep at night only. Spartan accomodations. No real lounge area or place to eat in the guest house, and no place to congregate and trade stories with other travelers. Don't plan to cook here. The carpeted floors in the stairwell are filthy. The toilets and showers are all located on one floor and it is not the main sleeping floor, so if you wake up at night you have to walk down the stairs to use the facilities.
No bugs. Quiet but located beside a busy walking and shopping street. Nearby restaurants both good and cheap. Shopping in the area is super. Located a three minute walk from Hakata Canal City, one of the best malls in Japan. Same distance to the subway stop Kushida Jingu Mae and to various bus routes. If location, location, location is your key to a nice stay, this fits your bill. If comfort is important, you can find better. The dorm rooms are big enough that you aren't stumbling over each other's luggage. The air conditioning works well in the bedrooms. The beds are big enough to sleep well in. Free wifi is strong. An international clientele - In my room, there were people from the US, Korea, Indonesia, and Taiwan. A 24 hour ramen shop with ramen for 290 yen and a veggie shop about 50 meters away make it easy to eat on a budget.

United StatesEverything except the above.
Rooms on the third and fourth floors without elevators. There are no separate curtains for minimal privacy, and there are even a quarter of the curtains that can cover the face of the bed and all the way down to the bottom. The wooden bunk bed, like a crude children's bed, shook the bed below as if it were going to collapse with a 9.0-magnitude tremor and squeaking noise even in the smallest movements of the upper class, leaving me unable to sleep. There is no kitchen for cooking, only a small microwave oven as big as a booger and a tiny refrigerator that can only be used in a private room by itself. There is only one men's and one women's bathroom on both the third and fourth floors, and only two showers. The accommodation does not seem to make any minimal reinvestment to raise the rating of the accommodation and improve the living conditions. We speculate that the fact that BookingCom still maintains a rating of around six points may be possible because it has concealed or deleted reviews that pointed out the conditions of the accommodation at the request of the accommodation. Shouldn't guests at least be able to sleep well? In the future, if the bunk bed is replaced with a more sturdy bed that does not shake the whole floor no matter how many times you toss and turn from the top to the bottom, and a private curtain that separates the upper and lower floors, it will likely truly be a six-point accommodation. However, as it stands, we do not have the basic knowledge of accommodation that can reduce more than three points.

United StatesIt was mostly all Japanese sharing the room so couldn’t talk to them much, but they were super friendly of course.
This places deserves a higher ranking. The location is nice and I like that it’s single beds (not bunk beds). With a fridge and couch in our shared room, it’s way better than previous spots.

JapanThis hostel skimps on a lot of privacy measures. Most importantly, the shower feels very uncomfortable because the curtain does not properly cover you in the shower meaning that someone could easily walk in on you. The beds are also very flimsy and don't have a proper curtain to give you privacy. It is also quite noisy because of street noise. Be advised that you will need to pay cash to check-in. The facilities are overall quite lacking. Compared to other hostels I've stayed at in Japan this was more expensive than I'd expect for the quality provided.
The best part about this hostel was the bed. I slept really comfortably each night. The hostel is also located in a nice location easy to access via the airport and near the Canal City mall. If you are interested in going out at night, you may need to walk a bit, but overall strong location.

New ZealandThe walls, floor, and windows are so thin that you can hear everything. You can hear people talking in the next room, people talking on the street. The other people staying at the guest house were loud all hours of the night and coming back drunk and sleeping on the floors of the lounge space.
The location was fantastic, 1 stop away from Hakata station and about a 2 minute walk from the subway. 7/11 1 minute walk and right outside the walking shopping street. Very close to everything.

ChinaCredit cards are not accepted, only cash is accepted. You can only check in if you pay in cash first, otherwise you will not be allowed to check in. The price increases greatly during weekends and holidays, exceeding the price of other hotels. I asked why the price was so expensive that day, and the boss was a little impatient, saying that if you are not satisfied, you can cancel it and book somewhere else
The location is very good, the transportation is very convenient, it is in the center of Zhongzhou District, there is a shopping street downstairs, there are many restaurants, it is very convenient to eat

BelgiumThe whole property is freezing cold. 4 floors to climb without an elevator. If you are staying on floor 4, the bathroom and restroom are both on floor 3 and the hallways are freezing. The window in the bathroom was open even tho it was 4 degrees Celsius outside. There is a curtain for privacy in the room but it has holes in them
