ItalyThey did not rent bicycles. The only way to get to the train station or places to eat were the local buses but they stop at like 9pm. The hotel shuttle service from hotel to station stops working at 10am, which is checkout time. We had to walk back after dinner. We wanted to include dinner before our night (given there was no way to get to the restaurants) but they said (when we checked in around 3 pm) that they had already ordered everything for dinner and could not fit us in.

The building was luxurious in a "traditional Japanese" way, if you are looking for a mix between a Ryokan and a hotel, this is the place. The Onsen is great, clean and has a nice view on the lake. Also, the staff even delivered my forgotten items to my next hotel, in one day, for free. I thought I would never see these items again.

United KingdomI think the servers could have slowed down very slightly during dinner when they brought out the hot dishes. I felt that we were very slightly rushed because our hot dishes were already ready.
Both breakfast and dinner were excellent. There was a good balance of many Japanese delicacies and some more well-known foods to the Western palate. A very enjoyable spread and we liked the fact that everyone was invited to wear the traditional Japanese clothes that were provided to dinner. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. The shuttle bus to and from the train station was easy to arrange at the tourist office and was a big reason for choosing this accommodation. We were able to keep our bags at the hotel both before check-in and after check-out. We enjoyed the view of Mount Fuji from our room. Just 5 mins walk from the hotel you can get an even more amazing view by following the side of the lake.
