Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

CanadaThe beds could have been more comfortable. It is only 1 bathroom for 4 bedrooms. This can be tough
Location was good and the price was very affordable.

IndiaThe other guests were a bit loud and left the shared toilet not so clean. The self check-in was a bit complicated.

SingaporeThere isn't an elevator, so we have to carry the luggage by stairs to the 2nd floor. It is a bit far from the train station & shopping area but it is still walking distance.
The staff that clean the place is very friendly & helpful. The place is very cosy & relaxing. We enjoyed the space, homely feeling and comfort. Good laundry area. Near to the beach & amenities. The soba shop that is just opposite is highly recommended too.

IndiaStairs are a bit long, but it's a one-off issue when you have to carry luggage. Bidet although mentioned while booking was absent.
A great stay had everything you wanted as a traveller, an equipped kitchen. They even had a DJ controller for enjoying!

JapanPersonally, I don't mind it, but the accommodation is on the 3rd floor and one needs to climb a long flight of stairs. So, it's not super access-friendly for seniors and people with mobility needs. Also, the house is made of wood (which, to be fair, most houses in Japan are). So, while everybody is very quiet, one may hear the sound of closing doors or people opening the bathroom door, etc., at night. So, bring ear plugs.
Excellent value & Excellent facilities! During a time when hotels in Japan are getting more expensive by the day, Guesthouse Tsuu stands out as an excellent value and budget-friendly accommodation. In Odawara, budget-friendly stays are very scant and most are capsule-hotel facilities. Guesthouse Tsuu has independent rooms with nice, comfy beds and facilities like washing machine (no dryer, but balcony available for drying clothes), a well-stocked kitchen with microwave, toaster, etc. A nice common area to lounge. Excellent WiFi. And, a separate (shared) restroom and bathroom. While the walk may take you 10 minutes from JR Odawara station's East exit, it's only a 4-min taxi ride (highly recommended if you're coming with luggage).

NetherlandsThe shared toilet and restroom sometimes are a bit anoying, you need to wait others to use it. The room walls are very thin, I could hear another man snoring during the night very loud. The beds are not comfortable (a bit hard for me). My wife complained about the smell in the room (mold), but for me it was ok. Even with these bad points, I would recommend it if you want to save money.
It's a cheap option if you want to visit Hakone. It's walkable from the train station (10min walking). They provided a tour guide to suggest places to go in Hakone. The beds were big. The shared living room and kitchen are nice.

CanadaI wish it was a bit closer to the train station. Also it's on a busy street and traffic was a bit noisy.
The room had a desk, which was handy. Bus stop to Hakone was pretty much in front of the place and that worked well for us. Lots of information was provided prior to arrival including locker at Odawara station and it was appreciated.

The location is very convenient, not too far from the station, the castle and the beach. The room was cozy.

A big kitchen, and a really enjoyable living room with an E-Guitar, a DJ System and some board and card games. Good price and a good location between Shimoda Station and the beaches. A bus to Hakone stops at the front of the door.

It's a very cosy place with all the necessary amenities (and more). Very well organized, smooth check-in. Convenient location right next to a bus stop. Pleasant living room for guests to use. Plenty of info provided about Odawara and Hakone, with sightseeing ideas for all kinds of weather.
