We stayed here for one night before heading out for our hike to Mt. Fuji. The hotel is nice, slightly older but very well maintained. Our room was super spacious, and the staff were professional and kind. Bicycles are available for rent at a very reasonable price. We opted for breakfast, and it was delicious. The highlight for me was the stunning view of Mt. Fuji from the rooftop.

We loved our stay here. The room was pretty spacious and the beds big and comfortable, perfect for our family of 4. It is close to the train station and the green and red sightseeing bus line stop. We had a great view of mount fuji from our room.

Breakfast was good with a choice of American or Japanese breakfast. The rooftop view was amazing. It overlooked Mt Fuji which was just fantastic. The hotel is close to the train station as well as one of the lakes, and to some fabulous eateries. We would like to thank the staff for making a earlier breakfast of toasted sandwiches for my husband/son to take with them when they left very early to climb Mt Fuji. There is the added bonus of a free shuttle bus to take you to the train station if you prefer not to walk. They also offer free water and wifi.

We stayed one night at HAOSTAY in Fujikawaguchiko and the experience was all about the view. The hotel’s rooftop terrace offers a direct and stunning view of Mount Fuji, which is truly the highlight of the stay. In July, visibility is usually low, and we knew the chances of seeing the mountain were not great. We had booked a room with a Mount Fuji view just in case, and it turned out to be the best decision. When we arrived at five in the afternoon, the mountain was completely covered in clouds. Just an hour later, at six, the clouds cleared and we had a perfect view of Mount Fuji with only a single fluffy cloud drifting by. It was a picture perfect moment. In the morning, we enjoyed another clear view around seven. By eight, the top was already covered in clouds for the rest of the day. Being able to enjoy those brief windows of clarity from both our room and the rooftop made the stay truly memorable. The room size exceeded our expectations. It was clean, modern, and much more spacious than we anticipated. The beds were very comfortable and we had a great night’s sleep. Breakfast was simple but satisfying. You could choose between a traditional Japanese set or two types of sandwiches. It was enough to start the day and matched the overall relaxed style of the hotel. Overall, HAOSTAY offers very good value for the price. It is a solid choice for a short visit to the area, especially if catching a glimpse of Mount Fuji is on your list. Book a room with a view—it makes all the difference.

The room was very humid even with the dehumidifier, and air cleaner running. The carpet was sticky when walking on it without socks, and we found leftovers(food) from previous guests on it. The smell in the room was not pleasant, it smelled damp and like something I won't mention.

The location is very good, and the view from the rooftop is great. There are restaurants and stores close by. You can rent bikes from the lobby and easily take them around town and the lake.

Would not provide any extra bedding (one of us wanted to sleep on the couch instead of sharing a bed).

Fuji view was amazing. Easy to walk around from the hotel. Room was a good size for four. Bathrooms were spacious. It was a pretty good find.

The staff went over and beyond to help us and even opened the restaurant for us for dinner when we arrived. They were helpful with us when we asked questions and even helped us find skin products for sunburn. The room was very clean and spacious. We had an excellent night's rest after climbing Fuji. The dinner and the breakfast were delicious and very filling. We loved our stay.

The dinner for 1500 yen was not good quality or quantity. It was convenient though for a rainy night. There isn’t much available for dinner around the hotel. Also, when doing luggage transfer, they use paper forms, not QR code. Everything (including breakfast selections) is paper. The staff are nice and helpful though
