Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Small room but again it’s standard in Japan
Close to everything but not on a Main Street so it’s quiet. Small room but expected, has Netflix and prime as well as a helpful charger cord with multiple plugs for all types of phones. Free razor’s cotton buds etc in foyer to use

Good hotel 10 minutes walk from Shinjuku station in the nicer part of Shinjuku. Rooms were clean and comfortable and the staff were really helpful. Good bars and restaurants nearby.

The room is quite small, barely enough room to walk around the bed.
Great property in Shinjuku in a nice neighborhood outside of the very lively/partying parts. The staff were helpful and held our luggage for us the day we checked out. Easy to walk to Shinjuku station to explore Tokyo. Amazing little spots nearby - great food, craft beer, cool bars, organic food market, etc. Felt really safe and was easy to go into the busier parts of Shinjuku when we wanted to. Good AC and the room has good curtains for sleeping.

Room was small, just enough floor space to squeeze around the bed. The room smelled a little moldy/musty. Water pressure was very low, it took a while to wash shampoo and conditioner out.
Location was convenient and close to Shinjuku station and numerous restaurants. Vending machines on 4th floor with beer and lemon and sodas.

The room was small. I wish the luggage transport option was discussed or introduced at the check in so we could have availed that in a timely fashion.
The location was perfect. The bathrooms were spacious and clean. The room 804 was well designed, compact but comfortable, coffee was flavorful.

The eco rooms we got were ok for one person, but impossibly small for two big persons trying to sleep together on the smallest french bed i have experienced in a while. The rooms are really tiny, you cannot open two suitcases together.
The hotel is in the proximity of the Shinjuku station, which is good. The personnel is extremely nice and friendly, and even the smallest rooms have a bathtub.

The room was small for 4 and we were cramped. however the room and beds dimensions were communicated during booking so there were no surprise.

Rooms quite small compared to other hotels in Japan but comfortable. Breakfast was ok, don't think it was worth what we paid, better options outside the hotel.

The room smells a bit ..
Very good spot, lots of restaurants and train station around, we can walk to Shinjuku main area easily, the room and beds are pretty big compared to other hotel in Shinjuku. Staffs very friendly!
