The air conditioner isn't powerful enough to cool areas throughout rooms fully, such as the toilet. The bathroom and toilet are separate spaces. We need to put on your own sheets and duvets, which is hard in a small room.

The hostel is close to Kyoto Station and convenient for both the Shinkansen and metro. Room is clean. First time to experience a stay on Japanese tatami

Shared bathroom was OK but there wasn't any door separating it from the hallway. No a biggie for us and all the other guests but can be odd for someone.

We choose the 4 people shared room to avoid overcrowding and it was great. Location is wonderful, less than 5 minutes walking from Kyoto station, and also on the way to and from the room is possible to find plenty of little Japanese restaurants with typical food. At the same time the neighborhood is very calm and not noise, nothing compared to Osaka or other city. There is a small but very nice common room very it possible to chat and consume (even cook) some food. Staff is super friendly, they speak a praiseworthy English and are prone to give you suggestions if needed. Beds were comfortable enough to sleep well and get some rest (despite they were a little old)

The location is great! Near to the Kyoto station and bus station. The single occupant room is clean and I have good sleep for 3 nights. KJ are kind and offer good advises to places to visit and better mode of transport to take.

The traditional beds weren't as comfortable as the other ones we had slept on during our trip. Having an extra pillow per person would have been helpful (which we likely could have received, had we asked).

Clean room, as described. It was great value for the price that we paid. Having a private bathroom was great and the air conditioning was fantastic after walking around in the heat. The staff were friendly. We also were able to do laundry there without hassle. It was great to have a seating area in the room as well. The location is perfect for exploring Kyoto (and beyond).

Great, quiet location in Kyoto away from the main tourist hub. Super walkable and convenient to Kyoto Station. The staff was exceptional. They helped me with restaurant recommendations and taught me about the city. I loved my traditional Japanese-style room. I would absolutely stay here again.
